  • Great book by a Swede... The 100 year Old Man who Climbed Out A Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. Surprisingly good and funny. Light hearted. If you like books about people being on the road. Good stuff.

  • Something I'd like to mention, money was still mostly cash. I remember when credit cards became a thing. Getting credit and loans was rare. If you didn't have the cash, you didn't get it.

    You could actually feel and count what you spent and realize how many hours of work it took to make. Now it's just a fuzzy digital idea of how much youve earned and how much you owe.

    Interestingly though... There was still the concept of "bad money, blood money, or filthy lucre." If you thought someone was buying something with money they'd gotten from drugs, or whoring women or hurting people, you had the option of not taking it. Black balling that person and not dealing with them.

    Now it's so digital, and there is no concept of dirty money. The goal is get it anywhere and everywhere at all costs, and that's wrong. The morality has gone out of trade and economics. And as crazy as that sounds, yes, there used to be morality in economics.

    Certainly more than there is since the start of the new millennium.

  • The Norse called Saturday "Laugerdagr" which translates to washing day/laundry day. They apparently thought doing the wash was equal to worship of their gods. Which, I don't totally disagree. (Cleanliness is next to godliness)

    The church wasn't having that though... So they went with the roman God of time. Saturn.

  • In English, the days of the week are named for Norse gods (or the pantheon)... All except Saturday. Sunday... The sun Monday... The moon Tuesday... Tew/Tiw, Norse god of war and justice Wednesday... Wodin (Odin), the all father Thursday... Thor, God of lightning and thunder Friday... Freyja, the lady, goddess of love.

    Except Saturday. The Norse called Saturday laundry day. Laugerdagr. Great word actually....

    But the English wouldn't have it so they went with the roman God Saturn for Saturday.

  • I'm old. I've seen stuff like this before. Im thinking red flag. I don't know her motives... But a) taking a pic of that (at an understandably bad time) is odd. Funny, maybe, but also could be used in an unhealthy way. Add that to the fact she said she'd delete it, and didn't... She wanted to use it for something. And a pic like that can only be used for something sinister. She cried. She was sorry... But you are now in the loop of self doubt. What she did was put you in a place of mental trauma and could be called mental abuse. Could be, I say.

    How long have you been with her? How does she honestly make you feel? Warm and happy, or doubting? Ask your friends and family what they think. They may have a clearer view of things than you, having known you longer and caring for you....

    That being said, I was young one. It's tough. But it can also be amazing. I wish you good judgement or mental fortitude. You're going to need one, the other, or both.
