  • when i thought Apple couldn't get less cool... they thought differently and proved me wrong

  • Yes, hand in hand...

Anecdotal of course, but every person I know who claims AI is a huge productivity booster simply trust it blindly.

I can't even get "Copilot" to return a proper answer from its own meeting transcript... just yesterday there was some confusion about an IP address we exchanged in a past meeting... I asked Copilot to check the transcript and give me the IP of the vendor's server (which I pointed by name of system and who spoke it in the meeting) and it gave me the IP of MY server, functionally the complete opposite of what I was asking but with full confidence in its answer

  • also because it's shit, if my memory serves me, I have successfully used AI for a productive task 1 time out of 7 attempts so far... it saved me 5 minutes

  • How many laws/regulation/guideline/code does anyone know that are only voluntary for regular people?!... anyone?

  • because I am privileged enough to be openly contemptuous.

... and now you understand, if fairness depends on privilege, you do not live in a fair society

  • Why do they suddenly think they have to force us to use a certain tool to get the job done?

Not just that... why do they have to threat and push for people to use a tool that allegedly is fantastic and makes everything better and faster?... the answer is that it does not work but they need to pump the numbers to keep the bubble going

  • same... it took me a second to re-calibrate the context

  • So Google half baked a product, pushed it to the public whether they wanted it or not, and now it's giving up on it replacing it with another half baked product nobody asked for...

Seems par for the course for Google

  • I couldn't care less... I care about what will be the next thing someone unaffected by me consuming it, would ban it and deprive me of it

  • Back then, this statement was such an exaggeration that it was plain to see it was satire... now it's indistinguishable from reality

  • extra upvote for Paprika

  • hahaha spot on!

When this happens (or similar situation) to me, I always think to myself "no rest for the wicked!"... it's become an inside joke for my fam

  • it would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous

  • pedophile president breaking his own law about posting bullshit online

  • Then maybe the buried fertilizer will become so valuable that it can be dug out and sold as fertilizer again.

I don't see any problems with this plan !

except the part the planet may be uninhabitable for humans by then due to the massive CO2 we are spewing to get slop from AI...

other than that, no problem at all

  • It's poetic... MS AI slings out massive amounts of shit and now the company gets to bury some of it to compensate

  • The point is simple: it's able to solve complex problems and do very impressive things that even human struggle to, in very short time

You mean like a calculator does?
