Viable alternative options will come when ranked voting is implemeted, which is expanding more and more through different states. Focus on getting that if you truly want to implement change. Until then, we have two choices, and those two choices can be changed during the outcomes of the primaries which you can participate in.
Simply not voting for the slightly-less-shit just gives the shit option more of a chance of winning. This is what secured a victory for the worst president in USA history.
Hopefully we see an absolutely huge swing in the opposite direction after this current shitshow is over with, though they may be too busy trying to patch up everything this administration completely bulldozed through instead of implementing more positive solutions like ranked voting, and by then voters will be tricked again into not voting out of protest over something else.

I have a discussion with my wife every so often about what our own little utopian island would be like, like how the government would be, how roads would be managed, what homes would be like, etc. I brought up the other day this exact point about how if there's a position of wealth and power at the top controlling too much, then sociopths would gravitate towards that for the same of having power and wealth, which ruins the government system. It would have to be a heavily distributed system of government, but too distributed where it would make it difficult to implement standardizations, get stuff done, etc.
Idk how that would work exactly, because then you'd also have to make sure no greedy, power hungry Trump-likes get into a position with too much power. There has to be a way, though.

I don't feel guilty by association, and I am proud of how much I've grown and accomplished this far, I'm happy with myself - still hate those guys making the rest of us look bad though, and deservedly so.
