  • One of the kids in my grade just happened to be the son of my teacher at the time. He did not like me because the girl he liked was giving me attention. We'll, one day he caught us holding hands (hard-core, I know) so he went to his mom, my teacher, and said I punched him in the face and had been bullying him. I never ever bullied anyone, especially him, and certainly never hit him or anything of the sort. Not once. But it was my word against his and obviously my teacher sided with her son. I had to stay after school everyday for something like 2 weeks. She never treated me the same again. I'm still salty about that. He totally got me. That ginger motherfucker. Jesse, if you're out there somewhere, fuck you.

  • M'erican here. My workshop is 100% metric. I do far too much measuring, designing and planning to fuck around with inches, feet and football fields. Motherfuck the imperial system. America has been robbed of the superior until of measurement. Every last bit of my work is in millimeters and it will be that way until I die in a horrible firey accident in my shop because beer and dangerous power tools are just too much fun when taken together.

  • Yes, I have and, again, nobody is cheering that people are being deported. They are saying they have no sympathy for those who voted for this and only care once the consequences reach them personally. I'm not going to pretend your argument is based on anything that's actually being posted hinting that this is a common sentiment for folks on the side against unjust and cruel deportations.

    Granted, there is always a fraction, how ever small, of people within any group that are just mean spirited shit-fucks who make the group they identify with look like fuckers as a whole. But in no way is this a common or acceptable view by the vast majority of the group as a whole.

  • Nobody is saying it's okay. The argument clearly being made here is that you can't have any sympathy for someone who gets exactly what they signed up for. Its not, "she voted for agent orange, so now I'm okay with unjust deportation." Being against ripping already marginalized and struggling families apart and not having sympathy for those who helped put in motion the very nightmare situation that their family is now now in are not a one or the other view to have.

Ya'll are facing unprecedented and seemingly insurmountable hardships the like of which the US and the world as a whole haven't seen in modern history. As they say, hard times make tough people. We millennials haven't had the best of runs but these next generations are in uncharted territory.

  • At no point I do I think bullying should be allowed in schools but the reality is that if a kid was demanding a litter box in which to relieve themselves, they would get ostracized, bullied into oblivion, and that behavior would stop right away. No legislation required. Humans have a way of self correcting themselves in group environments. It's an evolutionary trait from our days as tribes.

    Again, bullying is a huge problem that needs to be taken far more seriously in our school systems... Buuuut, humans will act like humans, especially human children, when it comes down to things way outside the norm. Its just the way we are at this stage in evolution.

Even if you flew through space at c for a little weekend getaway, you'd return to a now foreign world only to find time had skipped forward +2,000 years, your entire family and social circles long dead from old age with societal and technical advancements beyond what you could have ever thought possible, completely isolating you. You're now doomed to live in an unfamiliar world where not a single human speaks your language nor can they relate to you in any meaning way.
