  • As far as I've seen, it's primarily designed for audiobooks, with ebooks just being tacked on. I'd advise to use a dedicated ebook service, e.g. Calibre.

  • Yeah, and Plex is also enshittifying. Fuck Plex. Go FOSS or go home.

  • I'm so angry, I'm not going to give them money three times harder!

  • My pihole disagrees.

  • More like: "UK tries to forge bargaining chip for the next round of tariff extortion deals with the corrupt orange moron".

  • Roses are redAI is slopMy homies can't waitFor this bubble to pop.

  • *his handlers and bankrollers

  • When you're rich, they let you do it.

  • You can even share public links (with password protection and expiration date if you need it), and if you're running immich public proxy, you can do so without even exposing your immich instance to the entire internet.

  • You're both right, and you're both missing the point since you're engaging with their "save the childrun!" smokescreen.

This is about ending anonymity and privacy on the net, plain and simple.

  • This. Onboarding new people / devices on the fly (including QR code generation) is just so simple with wg-easy.

  • I'm planning on making a server case entirely from the bones of my enemies. The project is currently on hiatus because my bone count is still 0.

  • Maybe somebody should tell this more-than-once bankrupt dipshit that you can only make use of tax deductions if you've made some actual profits.

  • Sounds orderly, doesn't it?

  • I don't think those two are comparable.

Did pre-MAGA GOP voters vote against their own economic self interest? Yes, very likely.

Did they vote for the GOP in good faith, believing this was the right choice for the country and everyone living in it? Also: Yes, very likely.

That latter aspect is important in my view. In Trump's first term, people could still argue that they didn't know what he'd do and what would happen once he got into office. But that defense is gone now. People knew exactly what would happen this time. They knew about the cruelty. They knew about the violence. They knew about the corruption, the lawlessness, the authoritarianism. And they voted for him anyway, or even because of these things. They were prepared to accept all that, as long as it would be inflicted upon "the other side" (and now the leopards are eating their faces, too). That is no longer the ill-informed, but good-faith conservatism of former GOP voters. That is the cultish fanaticism of MAGA.

  • Somebody help me out here. What's the opposite of "construction" again?

  • You know the answer to that, and you also know that the answer does not matter. MAGA isn't a political movement that gains or loses people's support depending on the outcomes of its actions. It's a cult, built around absolute faith in the leader and its ideology, and as such, it's insulated from reality. Cults have a long history of explaining away the suffering they cause to their own members:

    • The other side is pure evil, so whatever this is, the other side is worse.
    • You deserve it. You've been a terrible person, and your suffering is your repentance.
    • It's a test of your faith. Doubts are a sign of you being weak.
    • You need to hold out just a little longer. Paradise is just around the corner. (Of course, dates and goal posts constantly shift into the future...)

Just think about the suffering any past cult has managed to have people endure or inflict on others (often their own kids). Then you know no matter how much MAGAs will suffer from their own political choices, it's not going to change their minds en masse.

  • In the sense that they're bastards and now also a little poorer? Yes.

In the sense that they've suffered a blow of fate nobody could've seen coming, and are deserving of our compassion? Fuck no!
