Just your typical internet guy with questionable humor

  • There is, but only if you're logged in, which I almost never am

  • I know, I have some channels there, but I still check out stuff I'm not subbed to

  • I always browse in private mode or with NewPipe on Android, checking what shows up on the sidebar recommendation to find new stuff

  • Very small channel list, but a start

  • The video downplays several clear instructions and limitations as if everything came from a single line command to AI, like when humans added 2 agents that would think that "taxes are too high". An actual newsworthy video would've been leaving such agents without any implicit or explicit command to bother with taxes and, after some time, find out they started to play with taxes within minecraft, which is a game that does not have any sort of in game market or currency.

The video/experiment should've added 2 or 3 agents to the group that had no mention of taxes whatsoever and see if the others that are taxed would've been bothered.

  • The entire article is 946 characters, 146 words long. It reads like a super concise description of the 18 minute YT video embedded which blurts that "this is the first glimpse of a new species beginning to think for itself and that could soon, according to Nobel laureates and the godfathers of AI, lead to literal human extinction" before the 1 minute mark.

Handwaving this away seems like the most responsible thing to do with your own time. The first experiment on the video, Smallville, can be somewhat replicated by Dwarf Fortress, which uses zero AI - dorfs can make parties, they can make friends, enemies, have children, etc. The only real difference with this minecraft experiment is that there's actual chat logs you can check

  • If OP meant Persian Gulf, that kind of explains itself. In many muslim societies, the father will get someone for his daughter(s). 16 is probably legal in their country, that or something its populace would consider "eh, close enough"

  • Butta Fett

  • I vaguely recall a lemming posting a highway outdoor advertising "Green coal" or something like that. Guess that's the green energy the USA govt is investing in (also crypto bros, because they got money to buy entire fucking power plants to run their stupid coins)

  • Implying the videos aren't Minecraft or Roblox related.

  • Yeah, the lack of artist info, or any actual info on any of the tracks raised some suspicions in my head as well. Lack of track names was also odd, as several other music for games have some sort of title.

  • The fuck was your title supposed to be, then?

  • 🤔

  • Gonna be Carnaval in Brazil (also, we don't care about Valentine's day for whatever reason, our lovers' day is June 12), so I plan on sleeping

  • Now with extra radium for extra health!

  • If your intent is to connect via app, I suppose you're better off with misskey or one of its forks like iceshrimp. They offer server specific custom reactions and allow crazy code on your posts. I recommend not using them on the web because the pages are HEAVY, like, "did my browser freeze or did it crash?" heavy

Wafrn could also work, it's more tumblr-like than twitter-like and gets you posts from mastodon/misskey and custom reactions

  • There was this time that one of the trouble boys from my class got into trouble with some dangerous guys from nearby. I never got the details right, rumor was that it was about stealing someone's girlfriend, or just flirting with the girl. We were all 16 at the time.

Anyway, this one day, after classes ended and everyone was leaving, I was hanging outside school with my friends when we saw the trouble boy sprinting madly back inside, with a group of 4 following behind - all of them looking like late teenagers. The pursuers stayed outside for ~10 minutes before leaving and it seemed like one of them had a gun, as he wouldn't take his hand off his hip (this is Brazil, btw, where gun possession is illegal).

Trouble boy skipped school the entire following week, which looked like it was enough to let the dust settle. Of course, rumors went wild, like one saying that he was ambushed and killed, but his younger sister was also at the school and kept coming, so it was easy to know the truth: he got grounded for the week and, to avoid being expelled for absences, got a magical medical "1 week off school" report.

  • Slavery. Even after banning it pretty much everywhere, people still find ways to treat others as disposable property.

  • What, you expected gravity to take it uphill?
