    She only eats from her bowl, she won't even touch the food that falls out.

    And she potty trained herself. I have an automatic litterbox, but sometimes it gets stuck. when that happens she uses the bathtub, which is kind of gross, but literally the easiest place to clean it, just hit it with the shower head and it dissolves into the drain. No idea why she chose it, but it is the most considerate place for her to do her business. She is too good for this world.

  • I will admit my first comment was a but too victim blaming. I did not meant it as a general, no one deserves sexual violence (neither regular violence). regardless of their crimes or mistakes.

    Seeing so many people still defend a Nazi, and that maybe if I was a white woman it would have been taken seriously.

    I know even for women the system fails them, I don't want to bring back MRA and use my injustices to make it worse for others. And likely the only reason people are listening to her, is not because he assaulted her, but because of a political game to take him down. If he was still a mercenary no one would have paid attention to her accusations. We really need more care for victims.

    I want the systems to be present to protect the victims and provide justice. So even though I will never shed a tear for someone who dated a nazi, I think the systems should be in place to protect her and everyone regardless of race or gender.

  • We did, they kept shunning them and ignoring them, never getting beyond the point to have a critical mass to have any meaningful power to fix anything.

    to the point that many just gave up rather than keep funding a social club for white old men.

    We tried to participate, I was in a couple working groups, went to almost every meeting, it was so frustrating seeing everything being blocked by 40 white old men who just wanted to wax theory, pat themselves on the back, and never did anything.

    We tried, we really did. they asked for budget for an event in black neighbourhoods to recruit more people, rejected, but there was always budget for a monthly social craft club that was only attended by that white core.

    Again, I am not blaming the whole of the DSA, only this chapter. because objectively if a chapter manages to shrink despite the Mamdani effect? it has failed miserably.

    I still support the DSA, I know some chapters are doing good work, but I can confidently say that my chapter didn't.

    And dismissing those issues is the fastest way to allow the whole of DSA to rot from within and let it become another toothless neoliberal org.

    Yes, there is an amazing uptick in interest. but my org has barely grown in the past years, despite the interest, despite Trump, despite Mamdani. if anything it shrunk a lot because almost all the non racists and non whites left.

    I am only speaking about my chapter, I have been in almost all their meetings in the past year, I have deep friendships with 4 out of 5 members of the executive committee who also left.

    That chapter did indeed have a problem, a racist problem. And automatically siding with the racists because they were white is some racist bullshit you are pulling that will rot the whole organisation.

    And we didn't only form a mutual aid, we also go to every city and county hall meeting to advocate for the unhoused, against ICE, and against Flock, we are actively recruiting and growing with a strong antiracist focus, we are building community gardens to feed the unhoused (it is not much but it is honest work). And that is a few it the legal things I am allowed to write online.

    The DSA is amazing and has massive potential, we cannot let it rot for the comfort of a handful of some old white men who just want a social club.

    And I don't see anyone who made excuses for a nazi as an ally.

    I'm emotional because that rape happened to me and absolutely no one cared. Have PTSD and cant get treatment because legally I'm not human here. I'm emotional because he made a career killing people like me and no one cared. But hurting a white woman is when society draws the line.

    Reading the news and these messages, all I read is that nazi tears matter a lot more than my life.

    the messaging is that there are much more racists here that I ever thought possible, and I'm running out of mental strength to exist in a society that considers me worthless.

    They also keep burning bridges with other organisations. It's just a social club. Maybe your chapter is more active, I'm not judging yours because i have no idea what's going on with it. but at the same time you're really putting your neck defending people you have never met.

  • maybe it doesn't apply to your orgs, but my DSA chapter was definitely a middle aged white social club. All the members who actually do stuff left and we have our own mutual aid.
