  • I'm pretty sure there was reporting on intelligence from before they attacked saying that it was determined it would be a clusterfuck. I'll have to go check if I'm remembering correctly.

    If that turns out accurate, then the question has to be asked how could they not know it would turn out badly? And since they had to have known, why did they do it anyway? I don't feel like Trump's insistence, or overconfidence, is enough to get the war machine going like it did. It very much looked, and still looks like they acted with an unspoken intention, and have just struggled with keeping their stories straight.

  • I agree Israel fooled MAGA into it. I don't know about force, just manipulated.

    I don't see how it's making it more difficult to consolidate power though. From what I can see, the Epstein files were heating up big time, just before the war. If they lost control of the narrative and Epstein stayed front and center Trump could have been impeached by now easily.

    I'm not sure how many flip flops it's going to take for people to figure it out. It's also why the Cuba situation is deteriorating right as the Iran situation is appearing more positive. With mediators and many other stakeholders sucked in, MAGA can't control the Iran narrative as tightly anymore. They have to try to pretend to be interested in an end to the war.

  • God it's so simple people.

    The Iran war cannot end until MAGA consolidates power. They are slowly doing it, but aren't at the point yet where they can just rip the mask off.

    They can't go to full on war because they're afraid of being chased out of office while there are still functioning democratic mechanisms. They can't just retreat, as Israel will just step in and cause point 1 to be an issue.

    This back and forth, "deal is imminent" BS is an obvious ploy to buy time, nothing more. The rest of the world is getting impatient but can't control the situation at all.

    This has 0 to do with Iran, or nuclear weapons/material, etc. This is 100% a distraction war being delicately balanced to last as long as possible without blowing up completely. As soon as MAGA feels enough of the fix is in, they'll abandon Israel and the Middle East and leave it to go to shit.

    It's May 26. Six months at the most until no one can deny MAGA is a full blown fascist regime.

    Or do you really think Trump is building a survival bunker ballroom that he'll only use for a handful of weeks if at all. Or you think Trump is doing it "for future presidents" lol.

    There can't be a peace agreement with Iran because the whole point is the distraction.

    There can't be any real talks/agreements with Greenland because US control of it is the goal and a sovereign nation will never accept that, ever.

    It's just a long song and dance designed to let MAGA buy time to consolidate power before they just take what they want anyway.

  • Sorta what I did. Moved to a cooler, less smoky place that has better local self sufficiency. Nowhere is immune, but at least we can be outside significantly more days than where I used to live.

    It's a good idea, i'd just caution you that there will be a rush to do this at some point. With 2027 shaping up to be shocking, 2 years might see you competing with more people than you think.

    Obviously don't know your circumstances but I'd encourage you to start taking at least the early steps now. It took a good solid 6 months for the whole process for us. And that was faster than I expected.

  • The most helpful thing, for me, is to realize that we still have an absolutely utopian existence compared to the vast majority of human history.

    It's scary, yes, but life has kinda been always scary. There will still be good things for a long time yet.

    Some little kids die from cancer. I could get hit by a car and killed by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. All things considered, we are pretty lucky even if the future is truly bleak.

    Global sea surface temperatues have been significantly higher than average for the past few years now. And that's when El Nino hasn't been on board.

    Global air temperatures are basically at record levels now. Again, no El Nino on board.

    Arctic ice is at a dramatic record low. Again, no El Nino on board.

    So a strong or even "super" El Nino? Strap in. 2027 is going to be the scariest year so far, by far, re: climate change, in human history.
