In theory pretty good. I have solar that does about 80% of my daily use. Battery backup islanded to the solar for the fridge and freezer and the electronics in the gas water heater. Plus a few outlets in each room. I've got a gas range and induction burner so I can cook two ways.
Pretty much comes down to water and food. I've got about 4 days of water and maybe a month of food. If the water keeps flowing I can boil it as needed.
The other problem is the ship signal they traced would have been frequency shifted by the same amount as the time dilation. They would have had to compensate for that to even detect the signal.
It was 1 hour : 7 years I think. So about a factor of 60,000. So if a ping was once a second it would be once every 42 days. And if it was a 1MHz transmission it would be at about 17Hz.
So they somehow realized the once a second 1MHz signal was now a every 42 day 17Hz signal at 1/60000 the power. But didn't realize that there was time dilation involved.
Warhammer 40k. I'm still a part of it. There are some cool and smart people in it.
But there are also a large group of raceist, misogynist, jerks. Then there are the people who are incredibly annoying to play against because of poor social skills. There is always at least one guy who really needs a shower.
Makes me think of Anton Drexler. Leader of the Nazi party. He used Hitler's popularity to further the party. Until they had a falling out and Hitler said it was Drexler or him. The party couldn't afford to lose the most popular member so Drexler was out and Hitler was put it charge.
They appeal to different aspects of entertainment. Other than being scifi franchise from the 70s that have lasted through today they are completely different types of shows.
I don't want to bash you for likeing Star Wars but I'm the exact opposite in what I want. I find Star Wars dull and uninteresting and love the dialog, mystery, and problems of Star Trek. (I can't deal with nutrek)
I think it's like pizza vs sushi. You can like one, both, or none but one is never going to satisfy if you are in the mood for the other.
It think the Dominion war works but as a framework for some of the more complicated choices the characters need to make. It also give us a chance for decisions to not play out in an hour episode.
It gave us the most interesting human klingon stories since TOS. Allies with different views and where the klingon perspective has more value.
I agree the actual battle scenes and episodes are usually week.
I also agree Sisko and the wraith / prophets stuff was terrible though. Though I always hated the prophet stories not just the end. I would have loved to see a better ending to Dukat and Winn than blasted with space magic.
Never letting the audience climax truly an edgy comedian.
