  • I did something similar when I last visited the US ~15 years ago. I uploaded an encrypted backup of my phone to a server in my home country and reset the device. I then downloaded and restored the backup when I arrived at the hotel.

  • Have you checked if the battery life has actually been reduced? I wouldn't put too much trust in the number reported by the system anyways.

  • It will get worse and worse but the chances of the site dying are pretty slim IMO. The majority of the current user base doesn't even know how good it was way back. They only know the shitty reddit and they still want to spend their time with it.

  • It's pretty much impossible IMO. You cannot possibly fortify every single instance against bots, there will always be ways around it. It's just something that the open internet will have to deal with unfortunately.

  • The 5060 Ti does not support Nvlink though.

  • I kinda get it tbh, sometimes you just want the lore and gameplay of the indie title with the fidelity and scope of a AAA studio.

  • Most UE5 games run like crap but they are not very prone to crashing in my experience.

  • I've been thinking about that. Or maybe a bottom mounted fan, would be a shame to ruin the look.

  • I built my current PC in the very first case I had back in the year 2000. Everything fits and all the screw holes still line up with modern hardware. The only downside is that it does get pretty toasty under heavy load.

  • It certainly looks like a furry thing tbf

Man dressed as fox pulls out of Clacton election because it's become a 'circus'

  • My favorite songs change every other week but right now it's probably Sanjam by Sixth June. The song is in Serbian.

  • This is the least surprising thing about this picture

  • They must have realized that you are a foreigner and put you on the one punctual train they had to leave a good impression.

  • Nah, he's made some great movies. Just not so much recently.

  • This was way worse than the average "bad film" lol. It was completely nonsensical and so full of massive plot holes that it has to be some kind of record. And it wasn't even bad in a fun way, just irritating and dumb unfortunately. Even the CGI sucked...

I would've walked out halfway through the film if I hadn't been there with someone.

  • Maybe they should have used AI to write a better script. Or maybe it's so ass because they actually did. Probably the worst film I've seen in the last 5 years, and that's really saying something.

  • Totaling a car over 40% is wild to me, is this a normal thing in the US? A bus drove into my grandma's car last year and the damage was something like 11k Euros on a 16k car. The bus insurance paid for the full repair.

  • A couple of questions: Why are you capturing the VHS footage at 16:9 and at 60 FPS? Seems like it's just a waste of space?

I also looked at the cost of the hardware, the Magewell Capture Card and the RetroTink in particular seem exorbitantly expensive for the advertised features? I don't see much of an advantage of going this route vs using a mid-tier 100$ USB capture card and doing a pass with a software-based upscaler afterwards?

Not hating or anything, I'd genuinely like to see your perspective.

  • The model architecture will still improve obviously. But the quality of the training data has been irreversibly altered and will only get worse with time.
