  • Reminds me of the Christian Bale batman movie where he could spy on everywhere from the bat cave. Seemed so far fetched it almost ruined the movie

  • I had no idea California had so many native species. Those golden look wild!

  • TIL

  • I'm into fly fishing and the holy grail for many anglers is catching native brook trout. Most trout are stocked or introduced with wild reproduction. Brookies were plentiful at one time before the loss of habitat. There are those that crawl on their hands an knees through brush to catch a 6" fish out of a stream you can jump over

  • I gutted a room and inside a wall cavity found a fully intact mouse skeleton with a wire cap stuck in it's mouth

  • Like a lot of things from the past, it's best to view this in context. The original B&B ran from '93 to '97, long before internet streaming was a thing. Commercial radio still controlled what music most people heard. This show broke the mold and exposed people to A: underground music that didn't get airplay "ladies and gentlemen... the Butthole Surfers" and B: older music that didn't get played on the radio anymore. FM radio was pretty freeform until the mid 80's when deejays were required to stick to a strict playlist. The impact was obvious when CD sales spiked for old/underground music after being featured on the show. Same thing for songs used in video game soundtracks.

  • Two years ago. Haven't looked back. Much

  • Sorry if it's already been pointed out but they just kind of skipped over boats

  • Barley was my dog's name. We were searching for a name when he dove into my Guinness

  • Also no FEMA conspiracy theories this time around. No stupid armed goons walking around as with Helene

  • Wait are cotton pickin minute. The conservative media has been telling me Democrats are letting illegal aliens waltz across the border. Did they lied?

  • I ask antivaxers I know if they ever turned down a medicine prescribed by their doctor other than the one the media told them to fear?

  • Party of one

  • A large magnet. I bought it on a whim ~20 years ago for $20 (still online for same price). I got it on a whim while buying gifts from an educational toy website. It comes in handy whenever I drop something small that ferrous or just need it to hold onto things.

  • I had a Radio Shack computer in the early 80's. When I sent in the warranty card, my address ended up on nerd mailing lists. Compuserve was the only public ISP and access cost $7 and hour IIRC plus it was a long distance call around 50 cents a minute (ask your grandparents). I was able to access the internet for free at public libraries. Had no idea what I was doing but managed to see weather predictions and access Nexus which was a digitized database of periodicals (magazines).

  • Set aside a cardboard box for stuff you haven't used in years but you'd hate to throw away because it's still useful. When the box fills up, drop it off at the thrift store and get another box

  • I'll never forget being around 12 years old and hearing my dad address another adult by Mr+surname. It was Mr Palmer who organized the little league I grew up playing in and my dad coached. In school we were forced to address teachers and staff as Ms, Mrs or Mr but at that instance I realized treating others with respect is a choice

  • I too use stock for making food for my dogs. I'll also make jello treats, it's cheap, they love it, it's really good for them.

  • Did you get the 1200 baud modem?
