  • Lol dont complain to much. You could be like me were i only have 1 option and although they just now released fiber earlier this year, im not paying the price for it. I've been stuck on 200mbps down and 30mbps up for years now and I'm paying as much if not more than people a few towns over that get 1gb. Also my ISP has no plan that allows over that upload speed no matter what plan you pick.

  • Why not use LTSC instead? It shouldn't include many of these changes it has done or will do. I know since windows 10 the separation between workstation and server has deepened and I believe app compatability is less due to it. I even remember a few apps I wanted to install on server wouldnt let me unless I buy a business license because it detected I was using server and assumed I was a business because of the OS.

  • It doesn't specify what apps... how broad will this be? The good news is i was already looking for alternatives a few months ago, and I think i see a few that will be a better solution anyway. Screw Amazon, and i hope they underestimate the percentage of people that only use this for those reasons. From everyone I know, I am pretty sure none of them use it for just legitimate reasons. I dont even use it for illegal streaming, but will they consider apps like plex, emby, and jellyfin as potential threats?

  • The article i saw a few days ago specifically mentioned that they didn't really talk about the price but when asked if it would cost more than the ps5 pro they didnt really say no and only offered that it will be priced accordingly to the hardware used to make it. To me, that most likely means it's going to cost around $1k. The absolute max is would ever be willing to pay is like $600. I have no doubt it will sell, but at that $1k price, they will severely limit the group of people that will be buying it. Honestly, if that is the cost, they should be shying away from even associating it as a console and just market it as a PC due to how people think.

  • But your story just continues to show that nobody with such strong opinions seem to care until it directly effects them. In your case, it sounds like they are right on the border of realizing this. It just sucks that this is what it takes for them to even consider this.

  • This does make sense, but idk if I honestly want to be the person who wants to find out if it may or may not be true. From my understanding, lead doesn't leave your body and is cumulative over life, and after it reaches higher levels, you will see side effects, which include cognitive decline. To me this kind of product isn't something you just eat once in a while, you are probably consuming a lot of it every day for months if not more. So even if it comes in at lower levels, wouldn't the frequency at which its taken account for it being more dangerous over time compared to foods that have traces but you only eat once every few weeks?

  • I watched the movies for the first time this week after my friends said this show dropped. Gave me something else to watch. Immediately I thought wow the first 10 minutes was already more wild than anything the movies did. I felt like all the crazy parts in the 2 episodes out right now were super messed up. I'm enjoying it!

  • Idk, is it? I would argue it's missing one if you think of power, video, and 2 usb connections. You would need a 3rd usb that goes to the pc if the other 2 are mouse and keyboard inputs. It's weird and rare, but some people do actually use the monitor usb ports.

  • Don't expect it to go anywhere anytime soon. It, sadly, seems to be one of the most popular and probably most profitable genre going right now. As others have said, the others still exist, but you gotta dive deeper. I have hated whatever this country music is forever now.

  • As someone who only used the stock synology app and has always wanted to try something else, what features and things does this do better? I am close to trying it out just to see. Im sure it will solve my 1 big issue where I can't control the location of photos that default to my application storage, which is pretty small, instead of my actual storage array.

  • Hmm, thanks for the heads up. I'm looking at our environment now. We no longer use wsus, but the way our people work, i wouldn't be surprised if they never removed the roles even after moving off.
