This is us. We have a heavy footprint with VMware and have been going over plans to switch since before the buyout. Sadly were not there yet but should be mostly migrated to something else by EOY 2025. Our issues come with some solutions we have in place for some complex situations that is taking a bit longer to test and have a working solution with the next company we pick.
Wouldn't the sale of the company go directly to what he owes the people? If so I doubt the seller cares what it's sold for, but the judge may think it's unfair to settle that low so that the people can get more possibly? I also could be wrong and that's not were the money goes? Just seemed like that's what this is for. I doubt they will get much more after things are sold either.
That's awful. A lot of people do a lot of degrading work in life... you do what you gotta do. Besides, I would imagine getting your foot in the door in a big budget movie would do tons for the rest of their careers and could have helped with getting other roles easier. Pretty sure that's how it works for everyone in the industry. Did Peter not do anything like this?
This unlocked a childhood memory! I forgot that my parents once randomly let door to door salemen in to sell us this crazy large set of books. I think my parents were desperate because I was awful at school and somehow thought someone who didn't try would now do so because I have all the information I needed... I feel bad, but I never used them once, a giant waste of money.
I think that's just being rich. The other people agreeing with him are also rich. They may not act like him in public but they know what's up behind the scenes, they all crazy behind closed doors.
Just set the printer IP manually and drop the default gateway. Without that it can't reach the internet to do anything. It's how I setup mine, and it's the easiest way to handle it, IMO.

Am I the only one thinking, what if they hack it and make people's heads explode? I'm good on all of this if it's ever a thing. Considering how much control they have over cars remotely, you know they will have full control of this, and that's pretty scary.
Sorry, but i feel like i have been preparing for this for the last 15 years now. I won't answer the question because I already have 40tb worth of content on my personal NAS. From movies, TV shows, music, and video games, I think I will be good for some time living off of just that. I also have all my docs, and personal pics as well.
Since I live in an area where power goes out a lot and internet can go down once or twice a year (not long but maybe up to 6 hours, worst case) it's already been a great solution that I was able to try out during those events.
I have only used it a few times, but it was amazing for my need. I work in IT so I'm not the best with writing. I enjoy working on projects and configuring new technology, servers, and applications for the company. What i don't enjoy is figuring out how to write communication emails to the company about what we're doing. So everytme I needed a write up informing people of what's happening and it's benefits, I used it to quickly write up something. Was it perfect? No, I had to edit some stuff of course. What it did do is create the entire structure and everything that needed to be said in the style of some corporate HR email. It would take me hours to type out something like this so for this to do it all in 2 minutes and me taking 5 minutes to look it over was amazing! Outside of this I haven't really used it much.
I am lucky enough to have never had a cell phone bill to this day. I got my first real job in 2006, and before that, I lived with my parents and just used their flip phone when going out. I will say I was a little late, but for the most part nobody in my generation used cell phones except to actually get in touch with someone and that's it. Once at my job, I was handed a phone and number to use through the company. Since I was in IT, we basically controlled the phones and didn't care if it was used personally. I am still with the same company today, but there have been changes and got scary so now I just purchased an android phone, signed up for Google voice to give myself a free number and use wifi for everything else. When I leave the house I have the company phone turn on Hotspot and my personal connects to it, so it's basically like having everything a provider offers without a bill.
The single issue I have is that some services do not consider Google voice number a legit line so I can't use the number for sign-ups or mfa on like 15% of the accounts I use. Apple, and battle.net are 2 off the top of my head.
Mine may not be as long as some, but it was super frustrating... I lost my only car key for just shy of 1 year. This was a few years ago and was around the "end" of COVID. I have been working from home for the past 2 years, and since my car was the older one and wasn't very safe to drive I used my wife's car whenever I needed to go to the store or pick something up.
So my car sat in the front of our driveway and was ok as is. It wasn't a big deal, and at first thought ok well it will turn up soon after doing a quick search. Months later, it started to sink in that this wasn't turning up. Still no biggie, it wasn't needed and not a huge priority. Fast forward almost a year, and bam, our job is telling us we need to come back 3 days a week in 1 month... I quickly started to panick, and we both went nuts for the next few weeks, ripping the house apart, trying to find it.
I also found a cheap key fob online and decided to get it and have someone come on-site to cut the key to match the car. I felt like an idiot after that worked but realized it won't start the car because of the security in the fob that needs to sync for it to turn over the car using just the key. So, $150 later and no progress. I decided to call a locksmith, and they told me to call the car dealership because they need the codes to program one if none exist. Oh, this is also going to cost me another $200 or more... car dealership says absolutely not, I have to go there to get the codes because I need to prove it's me with paperwork since it could be someone trying to steal a car. Didn't have time for this...
So, about 2 weekends before I needed to return, I'm doing a deep clean on my wife's car since her and the kids were going to go somewhere for vacation soon. As I am doing this on the passenger side I stick my hand down the left side of the seat and boom, I hit the key fob I lost where it was stuck halfway down. We looked in her car multiple times, but due to it being stuck midway, we never really checked that and only the floor underneath...
Great! Now I know it's going to be bad trying to start the car after sitting for almost a year. Sure enough, the battery is dead and fully expected. Since it was a costco battery and got it only a few years ago, I was able to do a full return and grab another without having to pay since it needs to reach like 2 years minimum before it starts depreciation and I was a few months before that. Get the new battery in and boom! Starts right up. I get excited for a second... then I step on the brake and boom straight to the floor. At this point I'm now nervous. Luckily my father is a mechanic and he is able to spot the problem which was a pinhole opened up in the back line near the left tire. We order a new metal wire and he makes a brand new line by shaping it to match the existing one that connects across the back of the car. After a few hours success. Looks promising! Then I put it in reverse, and it goes nowhere... my father then finds the trans fluid is really low. We take a gamble and buy like 5 quarts to fill it. Seemed promising and holy crap it worked. The next day I try to go for a drive just to use it and same issue. Father comes back and realizes the fluid is basically gone again. While under the car he now realizes the entire tank it sits in was rotted out. He says this was probably the best problem to have since it was like $20 bucks to order an entire new one to replace it. Get that in the next day and fill it back up.
It has been working ever since, and I was able to make it back to work in time. That was a year and a half ago. Just for reference, the car was brand new when I brought it in Jan 2007 and has 247k on it. I am actually in the process of obtaining a replacement car finally in the next few weeks. For having the car for so long I will admit it was incredibly reliable and I put almost no money into it outside a few parts every few years like the starter or alternator which isn't bad for 18 years.
You got a point, and I looked on amazon. Most bundle 2 or 3 into one, and the price is around $10 with a few above and not many below. I did find a 2 pack for $5. so I guess 50% because that's definitely the one I would buy.

Weird, is there a crackdown on this sort of thing or did someone really mess up big? I was actually called by my foodstore today to let me know that liptons French onion soup mix was recalled because it didn't list that it has egg in it and my records show that I had purchased this. I don't know if I ever saw this kind of recall before let alone twice in the same day.
