  • I worked a job where I had to have an app that tracked me wherever I went. I finally had to tell my boss I couldn't use it anymore because it was killing my battery in like 3 hours.

    If I was still working and a job wanted me to put an app on my personal phone I'd tell them to go fuck themselves.

    Just another way capitalists thieve money from its workers.

  • Except in the good ol' days just about everything on the 'net benefited most of us in some way ... and it was free. Now it sure as hell ain't free and it's been co-opted to benefit billionaires only.

    I started torrenting 23 years ago and it was easy. Just a client, no VPN required. Now I need not only a VPN, but a good router that I can flash with firmware, hours of working out how best to set up the router with wireguard etc, then scroll through dozens of links to try and find a stable stream to watch hockey.

    It's fucking exhausting.

    As for the last election imo they just didn't look far enough ahead to see the danger of Trump 2.0. They dilly dallied around with dumb shit, only paying attention to billionaires, completely ignored Americans' views on Isreal, showed almost zero interest in reigning in food/housing conglomerates' profits, etc.

  • Previously I used the 4-7-8 method (take a deep breath for a 4-count, hold it for a 7-count, exhale for an 8-count). I did that until I fell asleep.

    Recently I started deep breathing/exhaling (no counting) and it works just as well.
