Gentle nerd freak of the pacific northwest. All nation states are vermin.

  • I have a marbled rye

  • a unique quality to the feeling of it's drive

I have to admit I'm skeptical, and not just because it sounds written by a marketing team.

Things like the subjective feeling of something are strongly socially determined. When we're told something is fancy or high quality we have a different and better experience of that thing.

As humans it's rarely possible to separate our experience of a thing from our judgements of the people and identities we associate with it.

  • the deputy marshal “fit the general description of a subject being sought by ICE.”

100% chance the description was "Mexican".

  • Lust and gluttony don't need a month, they've got everything figured out. Sloth couldn't care. Wrath and greed already rule the world. And envy is sad cat face about everything

  • Greens and pointier browns, the greens were incredible, but I always prefer green olives.

  • When I worked at a fair trade store we had these Palestinian olives that were so damn good. Every morning I'd open a jar for customers to sample, eat olives till I made myself sick, then do it again the next day. Good times.

  • Not being able to unpin email chains unless you change it to non-threaded replies, select all, unpin, then go back to threaded replies like a civilized lifeform. Otherwise it just repins the chain when it refreshes.

Our office also uses teams phones which still don't have a way to show missed calls. We literally cannot call people back if we don't get to the med room phone in time.

  • How in good conscience are you posting links to a news site that is actively involved in a fascist coup?

  • The manual door open on some models of Teslas require removing 2 panels that are not labeled and need a diagram to know how to remove them. Another requires removing the speaker grill and pulling an unlabeled wire.

Even once the manual door release is pulled, without power you need a firefighter's upper body strength to open the door, and it's likely that flames and poisonous smoke will be coming up any tiny gap you can create by pushing open the door a little.

Just willful disregard of your customers' lives.

  • And some of those are really horrific. I think in one of the CA crashes, one person was able to be pulled out a window before the battery cooking off got too hot for anyone to approach and help the three others who were trapped and died.

  • Any regime moves involving rich celebrities are an intentional distraction from their latest plans to kill ordinary americans.

  • anyone but Trump probably can get elected

That's not how a fascist coup backed by the majority of our corrupt elites works.

  • He's a slimy career politician who has ambition where his ideals should be.

  • When he gets belly rubs he often raises his arms above his head in a "hands up don't shoot" pose, and he always looks scared. I don't have a photo of it cause I'm always too focused on getting that belly.

But here's a picture of him saying hello:

  • Be too useless to merit a doppelganger. To paraphrase zhuangzi, few know the usefulness of uselessness.

  • When I look at the quality of prominent Americans who went to ivy league schools, I don't think cheating your way through college will make much difference.

Pete hegseth graduated from princeton without the use of AI and he is one dumb fucking cunt, for example

  • It's interesting to note how vital lying is to authoritarianism.

People often worry over the dark appeal of fascism. But if it's really so enticing, why does every dictator have to, say, lie about being anti-gang while empowering them, or pretend to be pro-america while destroying the country on behalf of it's enemies?

  • I don't see Aeon Flux mentioned yet. The Maxx is very good too. Duckman I remember being hilarious, but I dunno if starring Jason Alexander counts as a deep cut.
