Gentle nerd freak of the pacific northwest. All nation states are vermin.

  • Given how incredibly well the harris campaign was doing at first and the outpouring of bi-partisan support for shooting CEOs dead in the street immediately after the election, and the barnstorming success of mamdani, i think it's safe the say harris lost because they took pelosi's advice and tacked hard to the right, instead of solidifying their early victories by continuing to lean left.

I think it's pretty clear the country was willing to vote for harris, dems just fucked it up.

  • everyone voted for a

~30% of the adult population voted for said rapist

  • As a child we had a play tunnel that devermiculated for easy storage.

  • While we're discussing things sideshow bob was wrong about, actually plenty of ancient cultures could well have considered chief hydrological engineer a calling.

Elaborate gardens or fountains and the complex hydro-engineering they required have been a symbol of power from ancient assyria to las vegas.

Water and it's storage and control seems to have had religious dimensions in both the mayan world and angkor.

Water control, flood control and canals were major imperial projects in china.

It's super believable to me that any of those groups might've considered a dangerous, difficult, educated job with religious or elite association to be a calling.

Also, i dont think anyone would use the c-word to describe cappadocia.

  • The campaign came out of the gate punching and dominated the news cycle. Then they took pelosi's advice and tacked right and immediately began to flounder.

Im not convinved the technofascists wouldve allowed a democrat win, but i don't think it's because kamala only had 3 months. Thats how long election campaigns are in civilised countries.

  • "Well may we say 'god save the queen', because nothing will save the governor-general", was what Whitlam said of the queen's representative who pulled the metaphorical trigger.

  • More empty rhetoric from a thoroughly establishment dem.

I wish we could shunt off all these warmed-up press releases from the newsom 28 campaign to an enough newsom spam community.

  • This is a really good question and ive not heard a good answer.

Even schumer's stooges didn't really seem to know why they were doing it. 'It was the only deal' or 'it had gone on too long' are both non-answers.

  • That would be a good choice - schumer is the only dem who could make newsom look principled by comparison.

  • I hear that lethal projectiles are very slimming.

  • That outfit is straight fire though.

Overalls are always sexy AF, the knee-high rolled cuffs show off the 'too cool to give a fuck' combo of socks and slippers, but the shirt's on the opposite side of the color wheel for maximum contrast, and the yellow hat adds to the cartoonishly cheerful look.

It's an outfit that screams both "look at me!" And "lol i dgaf". I would absolutely wear the hell out of that outfit. I wouldn't accesorize it with a handgun though.

  • I have often thought that if i got a bunch of money i'd make sure not to move house, quit my job or otherwise change my lifestyle. I'm also neurodivergent and quite devoted to avoiding ever excercising power and to ignoring authority as much as i can.

Realistically I suspect we'd get food delivered multiple times a day.

But of course i don't think me-without-a-billion could ever really know what me-with-a-billion would do.

  • Not only do you have to be capable of immoral actions to amass that much wealth, but having power has all sorts of neurological effects.

People who gain power become less capable of empathy. If you gave a "good" person that much money, they would be less able to think about how their actions hurt others.

  • Yeah, i feel that. I think that in this attention economy it's important to focus on the real.

I don't fully understand why the fascists want us all focusing on BS, but we shouldn't be giving them what they want.

  • Fascist says some nonsense bullshit is always a distraction, never newsworthy and best left unshared.

  • The usual

    Jump
  • Everytime i add the freeze dried chicken to the cat's food i say "all aboard for the night chicken!" No one gets the reference, not even me.

  • The fact that you stopped first makes it hilarious, i think. The thought of it made me laugh out loud.

Pulling up to a stoplight and then seeing a potato when and where you'd expect traffic is way funnier than just seeing a potato unexpectedly.

  • Yep, or so the story goes. There was some dispute as to whether he could physically reach a moose's nose to punch it. And even more dispute as to whether he actually did.

  • I don't get all the moose and ship references, but in my family we call this kind of thing a moose story.

Back when my uncle was like 7, in fairbanks alaska, he came home from school and said he saw a moose. That's nice, everyone agreed. And he walked right up to it. Oh did you? And punched it right in the nose. No, you didn't though, did you?

60+ years later he still maintains that happened.

  • I wasn't convinced that this was actually any better than live laugh love, but you're right. This is way better.
