  • Okay that would be fun. Couple retro commercials between an episode every now and then would be cool.

  • I probably could've clarified that - the key here is it's my media put on my schedule.

  • It won't really feel like a tv channel until I put 5 minutes of prescription drug commercials between every cut in a show.

  • Dang. Yeah, that's exactly what I want. Shame to see it's unmaintained, but I'll have to give it a shot anyway.

  • But then I'm tied to "normal" tv channels saturated with ads, yeah?

  • Your "poor man's channels" is a slick fix. I haven't messed with HA yet, but didn’t think about whether that could cue up specific playlists. That'd get me one bit closer.

  • That chair looks pretty darn cozy

  • It's excellent if you’re used to living in a spreadsheet. Tons of power & flexibility, and if I ever start a business it'll be one of the first apps I use. Can't think of a better option.

For me as one person intermittently working on small-time projects, it was overkill. I don't need to track or log project details, so plaintext files work just fine for what I do.

  • Holy smokes - is that every two hours? For how long?

  • "We designed, marketed, and sold the gun, but we didn't think anyone would use it."

  • Anyone want to ELI5 what's so slick about Cachy?

I likes my Debian. Look at that graph. Steady as rock.

  • From the article:

Flatpak is NOT a distro, but that’s what Steam reports when it’s running on Flatpak, and Flatpak being distro independent we report it as a separate environment, if that makes sense. Feel free to ignore it if you wish.

  • Listed programs:

    • scp - "potentially deprecated"
    • e/fgrep - replaced with grep flags
    • net-tools, which includes
      • netstat
      • arp
      • route
      • iptunnel *nameif
    • ifconfig
    • iwconfig
    • iptables
  • That means they are definitely providing user data to the US govt

  • Gimme that wobble and the glow of a CRT and y'all can keep your fancy HD
