    In regards to the last part, I think sexual intimacy can be okay at an earlier stage, as long as you ensure clear and honest communication beforehand about expectations and comfort zones. But as mentioned, considering the inexperience, caution is your friend. Do not rush; you have time.

    Another advice is to be inquisitive: Ask him directly what his intentions are, and why he's infatuated with you. Perhaps also ask your friend's boyfriend about him, and have him tell his 5 cents both about this guy as a potential partner, but also as a person. It might come to light things like him being on the spectrum: Even seemingly socially adept people can be on the spectrum, and it only shows when they're in unfamiliar/stressful situations. This could explain his behavior as someone who just don't know how to show his affection, and (desperately) attempts actions he knows make people happy, like gifts.

    I say this as someone who qualifies as a socially adept person on the spectrum, and I recognize this behavior.

    The FAQ describes in some ways how it's different from LibreWolf, in addition to pulling from other projects like the Tor Browser, but I'd love to see some near-exhaustive spreadsheet or table of features and functionalities that differ from the various projects.

    What is the motivation for users to switch away from LibreWolf? Who is the team behind Konform, and how can one trust this team to build a "better" (depending on what you value) browser? And furthermore provide a consistent and safe development distinct from other browsers?

Nevertheless, in a teaching environment it might be particularly difficult to navigate given the political picture. What subject, may I ask? If it's a subject like history or philosophy, that can be pointed in a direction of "swaying people's opinions", you might be in for a hard denial.

    I think the best you can do is simply get in touch with the university; send them an email, and be transparent and honest. You won't lose anything from humble requests.

  • I find this question quite fascinating: Culturally, there are countries where this gets asked indeed as a form of greeting, not a genuine question.

    In Slavic countries, I feel like if you get asked this question, it's generally considered to be of genuine interest, and you'll get a genuine reply. Nothing offensive or informal about saying "Things are bad." or "I feel bad.", or any variant of such.

    This might be my perception however, and feel free to correct me. I myself think that if someone asks how I'm doing, I have no need or responsibility to "remain positive/pleasant".

  • I'm sorry that you had to go through that, and I must emphasize that I do not wish to "let" anyone be exposed to this. However, I remain unconvinced that it's "more common than I think". The amount of sexual assault that women are exposed to is unfortunately far, far more common, and a bigger problem that should take precedence in being dealt with.

    Say out of 140 000 reports of rape in one year, 4% are false. That leaves us with 5600 false accusations. And according to the survey shown by CDC, there's an estimated 1.4 million women raped in 12 months.

    Men have so much less reason to fear compared to women. This is not saying they have nothing to fear, but the measures taken by uber is an attempt to protect those who are MUCH more prone to sexual assault and harassment.

    The fear of accusations is not covered in this survey, nevertheless, if men feel fearful of accusations, imagine what women feel when they fear actually being sexually assaulted.

    The amount of males being falsely accused of sexual assault is much lower than the amount of females being exposed to sexual assault. Hence why there has been provided a measure for women at this scale, and not for men.

    A lot to unpack here, but the primary reason is that "everyone" survives, is led into adulthood, and encouraged to start a family. From an evolutionary standpoint, we don't have any sort of filter who gets to live and breed, and no "survival of the fittest". This is not only about childbirths, but also about who breeds (and raises) children.

    Eugenics is not bad in of itself, but people consider it bad because they fear it will be forced upon them by racist/ableist powers. (Remember, a mother (and father) who chooses to abort if there is something bad unveiled through tests are also doing eugenics.)

    Not saying we haven't had this "problem" in the past, nor that we have to do something about it. It's more a statement that we have a lot of idiots around...
