I've only ever seen coding assistants, such as claude, work correctly if wielded by people who already know very much about programming. They know what questions and pointers to give the AI, they treat it like a junior coder that is looking to learn.
I already own a fairphone, and those are supposed to be the best fitting for ubuntu touch. I'm contemplating installing it, but am not really exited to backing up everything properly. I'm also a little worried about breaking something :/

I love rust, and it has been a while since I have looked into Redox, but I feel like Redox is doing a lot of strange choices. Firstly, it uses the MIT license and not a copy left license... why? Secondly, I think I remember that it's trying to replicate the linux, I haven't seen any innovations to the typical stack. If I started a kernel from scratch I'd like to implement as many improvements and innovations that has come out since the 2000.
I'm probably very wrong, but these are just my feelings.
In July 2024, running a Relay on ATProto already required 1 terabyte of storage. But more alarmingly, just a four months later in November 2024, running a relay now requires approximately 5 terabytes of storage. That is a nearly 5x increase in just four months, and my guess is that by next month, we'll see that doubled to at least ten terabytes due to the massive switchover to Bluesky which has happened post-election. As Bluesky grows in popularity, so does the rate of growth of the expected resources to host a meaningfully participating node.
Doesn't BS have things in it's software that are hard coded to the main server, so it's not possible to make a completely independent host at the moment?
Yeah, I didn't expect them to. My comment was more of a hope that TOS would eventually be able to run on the browser and that this update was one step towards that future. Also, I don't really care, it was a funny comment.
It's not decentralized though. The way it's written requires you to host everything in bluesky along with everything on your own instance to be fully autonomous. That makes it impossible for normal people to host it.
Don't get me wrong, I like the channel, I just find the voice AI produces to be very grading. I like that he can produce the videos he likes, and I'd rather have a AI voice than no voice at all.
