You are weirdly argumentative about peoples personal experiences. Last guy isnt even an american (nor am i) but you take their personal anecdote as some sort of challenge.
Personally i avoid visible branding, and at that point you can just go with whatever frame you like. Investing in high quality lenses is much better spent money in my experience, lightweight+deglared+extra thin lenses make a world of difference for comfortable wearing over longer time for me.
I much prefer autumn/winter. Only when it gets really slippery from frozen over streets it starts to suck, i can always dress warmer. I cant wear less than nothing, and it is still way too hot.

The same reason they have in the show, once you start with it everyone will eventually have to, or be treated to good old classism which was already gone in trek. Cant compete with 200iq people who can run 50kph and kick through a concrete pillar, if you excuse the hyperboly.
I mean, it kinda is, because he isn't a mutant in the sense that it is some quirk of nature. He is engineered, designed to be superhuman in many ways. He just lucked out and didnt get the space nietzsche genes. People still should not try to make Übermenschen, not in trek and not IRL either.
Personally i think she and the emotionally unstable chief engineer(?) were so immersion breakingly unprofessional and annoying, possibly the worst part of the whole show. Well them and the whole "a kid cries and the galaxy breaks down" plot.
Anyway, constantly bringing personal issues to work and, respectively, treating the engineering section like her personal one-bit comedy stage, is wildly inappropriate for any junior not to mention senior officer in charge of an entire department. I can somewhat excuse it for him because he is the eccentric genius who came up with the central element of the ship and is necessary for it to run, but still...

I have had mine for literal decades as well, and used it for so much stuff over the years it is hard to entirely ditch. However i have switched to proton some years ago as well and simply set up mail forwarding to my new account, in case anything important ever comes in over that gmail.
