    And these little old ladies out of town behind me were immediately talking about it. "Oh my, is it a mental health thing? Maybe that's useful."

    I hate getting into strangers business, but I forced myself to turn around and say loud enough so everyone on the bus would overhear "No, it's not a 'mental health' thing. It's a cult. Don't go down there."

    People underestimate how many susceptible people with no knowledge on the dangers of it still exist. All of them ripe for the picking, as far as they're concerned. Don't just ignore them when you see it, throw their flyers back at them, cuss them out, tell them to be ashamed, make a scene. People around you need to clue into what this shit is. Don't allow them to normalize it.

  • Couldn't be me lol. Every single tab I have is at maximum utility. Obscure articles, research topics, and scientific journals I "swear I'll get to" but don't have the time to read in its entirety. No bloatware from clunky news sites or unfinished searches, all my youtube stuff has been added to Watch Later and closed when not in use. I even installed Tab Stash to help but it only mildly shifted the problem and made way for new tabs.

    It's gotten so bad that I only allow myself to browse in-private anymore, so that way I really prioritize what I leave open "indefinitely" and what's worth looking at now, because I know the next time my browser crashes (which is about once or twice a month) I will lose all those pages now lol

  • I worry about becoming too recognizable because I have an unconscious bias to begin self-censoring my harsher opinions once I begin to "know" people in the online space. I prioritize people's feelings over being right, and that can cause me to sugarcoat too often when someone I like says something truly tonedeaf or unintelligent.

    I just wanna be able to say "The US is a fucking third world shithole" without some American acquaintance giving me the 🥺 and making me feel like a bastard man about it lolol

  • I tried one just for shits a giggles awhile back to see if there is any merit to the widespread use of them. The only way you’d find these even remotely realistic or interesting is if you’ve never had any kind of sexual encounter with a real person before, whether in person or through text.
