I hate strawmen.

Disclaimer: not really The King

  • Perhaps. Feel like Canada is the other extreme tbh.

  • Isn't this why apple is popular. It just picks everything for you.

  • I think two communities could have a consensual federation - where posts from each community shows up in each community's feed.

  • Lemmy is supposed to be the best of both worlds. Smaller internet communities not owned by big corpos and federated together.

  • I use eternity, used infinity beforehand so it basically felt like no change when migrating (eternity is a lemmy fork of infinity)

  • Self host

  • I thought this was just a meme

  • Film idea: guy loses phone on holiday and rushes to disable his dead man's switch

  • Reminds me of an article posted on Lemmy earlier about how there was a call for a bilingual sign to be removed in London. The article was actually about Elon Musk backing this move, about this sign, the controversy, etc. in reality he responded to some dude complaining about it with a reply saying "yes". Three letters, bam, several journalists are writing articles and people are posting your opinion all over the internet.

  • I wonder if you could make a dead man switch something more benign, like have it restart whenever you plug your phone in to charge, turn on a light switch, start a car, all three, etc

  • I believe posts are hosted locally on the user's instance, so I guess it'll be a scream into the void, possibly not a way to view them on Lemmy (although may still be visible on Mastodon)

  • What a horrible language.

  • Probably not. We use a kebab or a hamburger to mean "tap here for a menu" for some reason

  • We'll be resurrected and face judgement before God, all who have sinned will be found guilty and cast away to hell, except those who have repented and came to Jesus for forgiveness of sins - in which Jesus will have already paid the punishment for.

  • BBC Radio 4's hourly news bulletin just before the Archers. That and BBC News headline notifications.

  • Jira breaking is a feature. Free time to do nothing

  • Bragging about your sick gaming pc is just a vessel for bragging about HRT

  • I'm so sorry
