I'm single, childless, and married to freedom and adventure.

ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.) With each passing day I get a little closer to hating everyone.

Also, I refuse to use Donald's last name out of hatred for the man and his brand, FYI.

  • So you think when an imperial country tried to invade another one against the people’s will they should just accept it?

    Oh the irony. And no, Ukraine has every right to defend themselves. I just don't support US involvement.

    There are many more americans in Ukraine’s foreign legion than the Russian.

    I certainly believe it, because our government always lies to us about our involvement in foreign wars.

  • Yes, I'm criticizing. I'm anti-war, and I've always found it silly how people in our country view war like they do a football game, and the only time we've ever seen any real resistance to foreign entanglements is when we made people go fight the war themselves.

    But if there's a widespread enlistment and Americans do explicitly sign up to go fight for Ukraine, however unlikely, I'll gladly change my position.

  • EDIT By all means, downvote, but identity politics failed, and it's because you decided someone saying a mean word was a more important political concern than someone being able to feed their kids. It's that simple.

    It seems apparent that Americans have decided that mean words are no longer an important concern culturally. Still a shitty thing to say, but the majority doesn't care.

  • On some level I kind of respect that dedication, even if this person's clearly not thinking things through.

    Most people in this country are keyboard commandos who support any war that their preferred news program tells them to until someone wants them to go fight it.

  • I was lucky to have money to invest at the right time when the markets crashed in 2008 and 2020, when stocks could be had at a 90% discount. As a result I was able to pay off my student loans and put a down payment on my residence with the profits, just by being willing to wait a few years for the market to recover.

  • It was interesting watching the NY governor fellate the NYPD in the news conference after the arrest, as if we all didn't see the videos of them pretending to work taking a stroll through Central Park. It reminded me of the assholes in Uvalde, also pretending to work.

  • A lot of it has been in horror.

    I LOVED Smile and Smile 2, and enjoyed the hell out of *Abigail *and M3gan. Another good one is Happy Death Day.

    Bad Genius was fun, as was Wolfs.

    There's a wealth of original content out there.

  • You know, I'm not a huge Billie Eilish fan, but when she performed the Christmas episode on SNL last year I fell in love with her Christmas renditions.

    Also love Haley Reinhart's rendition of Santa Baby. Very jazzy and fun.

  • What is your favorite setting in any fictional media? Games, books, movies, etc. What do you like about it?

  • The world of the Tapestry series, by Henry Neff.

    It's Potter-esque, except darker and more complex. Plus there's a great epilogue book set 1000 years into the future after the first series concluded.

    Doesn't hurt that Neff is a wonderful person on top of being an amazing writer.

  • People who lost a parent they truly disliked but were still in contact with, how did you feel?

  • My parents are in their 80's and while I can say I love some version of them, they didn't save anything for retirement, and therefore, are a massive burden on me and my siblings.

    In my mind the versions of them I loved are already gone. I'm just doing what I can to help them live well until they pass away because if the roles were reversed, I'd want them to do the same for me.
