ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.) With each passing day I get a little closer to hating everyone.

    They tried to work through the Democratic Party for change and the Democratic Party spat in their faces. In this scenario, there's a greater evil (Joe) and a lesser evil (Donald).

    It's not by much, but the ceasefires that have occurred wouldn't have happened under a Joe Biden or Kamala Harris presidency.

  • That's the the weird thing about a Trump presidency.

    Sometimes good things happen for the wrong reasons, which is oddly preferable (at least on this issue) to a Biden presidency, which was 100% genocidal for no good reason. It's strange living in a world where we're more likely to get a ceasefire in Gaza because Donald wants to personally profit off of it whereas the Democrats just seem to really, really enjoy feeding weapons to an apartheid.

  • Inadvertently walked in on two teachers discussing their affair in junior high school.

    My choir teacher, at the time a young woman in her twenties, was fucking a history teacher in his 40's who was married to another teacher at the same school. I walked into the room where all the sheet music was stored to get something and they were talking, at which point he immediately turned to me and snarled: "Do you mind?!" I didn't even hear what they were saying, but in hindsight, the circumstances make it obvious.

    I was just a teenager and not expecting this weird moment, was stunned and just backed out of the room. I didn't put it all together until later because I couldn't imagine a young woman screwing what I saw as an old man at the time.

    I got called in to the office later that day and she'd made an allegation that I'd harassed her and I was going to be suspended, but really, she and history teacher concocted this to cover for themselves in case it got out.

    It was an important early lesson in distrusting authority.

Your indignation isn't going to change the reality of inflation or people's grocery bills, and as much as people love to joke about the price of eggs, it underscores just out out-of-touch Democratic partisans are with working-class people, for whom the increasing cost of basic food staples is a very real threat.

  • I'm glad it worked out for you. It worked out for me as well, since I'm fortunate to have a good job. Even so, my grocery bills are up 30% - 40% over the last four years, and I'm not the only one. If I had a wife and family, that would be exceedingly difficult to manage.

    But it seems the majority is getting tired of working multiple jobs and upwards of 100 hours a week in order to be able to rent a roach-infested studio, and they definitely didn't want to be told to be joyful about it.

    My eighty year-old parents have been borrowing my car for over a year to drive for DoorDash, because if they don't, this country will render them homeless to make some billionaire asshole richer. The worst part is that is true no matter which party we hand power to.
