Artist, musical performer, and former derby skater from the Midwest.

I'm single, childless, and married to freedom and adventure.

ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.) With each passing day I get a little closer to hating everyone.

Also, I refuse to use Donald's last name out of hatred for the man and his brand, FYI.

  • You could build your own spreadsheet using LibreOffice Spreadsheets.

I've been meaning to do it because my diet doesn't change much, and it would just be easier to track it myself.

  • Good to see you get some good utility from it. 💪😎

  • It's objectively a bad thing when a country's entire economy is being propped up by seven companies and the vast majority of consumer spending is concentrated in the top 1%.

  • That's awesome, but I don't need it. :)

  • I'm kind of glad that I don't mind flipping switches and pressing buttons. I've never felt the need for a smart home, so this stuff hasn't affected me much personally.

  • the only way to change our course is violence at this point.

    Sadly, yes.

  • And the environmental cost is still lower than meat.

    It's not meat.

It's cars and planes. We know this because we observed a drastic drop in air pollution in both 2008 (following the financial crash) and March 2020 that can be attributed to basically the entire planet no longer commuting and traveling.

That said, LLM's water and carbon footprints are likely going to be far more devastating than meat consumption, not that it'll matter. Everyone is still going to vote Democrat and Republican and things will steadily continue to get worse.

  • Being happy by myself.

  • The key with a VPN is to buy long term. I got a black friday deal for Proton last year that comes out to two dollars and pennies a month.

  • I was coming into my own as an adult.

I'd been in an adult job for a couple of years and I bought a car and started renting my own place. I was able to travel a lot in those days and life was more interesting and affordable, as the 2008 crash hadn't yet occurred and most third spaces were still around and thriving.

It felt like we all had a good future ahead for the most part.

  • Nonsense

He died because someone didn't identify their target and exercise muzzle control.

  • Yup, this is how he managed to fund his wall over the objections of Dems when they had control of Congress during the latter half of his first term.

  • I give myself a TV show I'm only allowed to watch on the treadmill.

    That's a pretty sweet deal.

  • I know how they are supposed to work, sure.

But here in KC people saw 100% to 150% increases, which was so ludicrous that the state tax commission stepped in and capped increases. We also just voted to recall our county executive who defended the assessments

And our scenario is not unique. It's happening everywhere in this country.

Even though there is a legal process for tax assessment, that doesn't mean it isn't abused or corrupted. Also doesn't make it okay for the county to levy unfair taxes to homeowners.

  • Sure thing.

Thank you for your opinion. I hope you have a nice Wednesday.

  • This particular situation is a little more extreme, but you'd be wrong. Homeowners are seeing their property taxes raised by criminal percentages nationwide. Thankfully most are fighting back.

  • Probably, but the bigger point here is that it's a tactic being used across the country for various reasons.

  • We here in Kansas City are voting today to potentially recall our county executive over massively inflated property taxes.

This seems to be happening all over the place.

  • Spoken like someone who hasn't had to interact with American law enforcement much.
