Trolls, bots, and scammers make them necessary at a minimum, and then the subliminal messaging from the cronies of politicians, etc. make them welcome. Bots are easier to make than ever before so you can't compare the past with the present that easily. kbin.social died last year because of relentless spam bots posting garbage/malware links 100x/sec.
Who, exactly? Be specific. You are most likely helping the wrong crowd. Even Jesus said to not give pearls to swine, therefore implying that not everyone is swine. Spend time and efforts wisely.
What exactly are you searching for, though? I do subreddit-specific searches to begin with. If people happen to have not discussed the topic, then I simply make a new post about it, either here or there.
at some point I would have said, 'Well, on Reddit...'
I don't see why this is bad. Even now, it's still a major forum of incredible human wisdom and knowledge that you can't easily find anywhere else—not even here quite yet, I think. It's the leadership that sucks but the users are mostly amazing (in specific subreddits, at least), and those are the awesome people I refer to and am grateful for interaction with.
I genuinely believe that the world would have been better off without my existence disrupting the natural order.
How was your birth "unnatural" (by inference of your wording)?
Since you're still alive, then is this no longer the case? Obviously I'm not condoning your death, but by deduction then this should be "believed" at one point and no longer now—unless you mean that you think you're actively choosing to be selfish by continuing to live, I suppose.
maybe it’s not as traumatic to have never experienced it?
There is zero trauma in nonexistence; there is indeed nothing at all, which includes all happy memories as well. No garlic pesto pizza, no Andor season 2, music, sports, games, Lemmy...
Many do, but a fair number also tucks it into a separate menu; you have to click somewhere at least once or twice to uncover or show said reject-all button which you can then click.
I personally find fading-in of web elements in scroll to be annoying. Cookies should also have an immediate one-click reject-all button directly visible without having to enter any menu.
Oh, also, any links that are inaccessible by Vimium are annoying.
I suspect this will still become a problem since we can subscribe to whichever communities we like and vice versa.
