  • The good: My guinea pigs do cute little hops and skips and zooms when they're excited.

    The bad: if I even quietly open a bag of chips in my room they will think they're missing out on food and scream as loud as they can. Which isnt very loud but it makes me feel bad and so I go downstairs to get them some fresh veggies or a snack of some kind.

  • My WiFi AP broke when my friend she plugged the wrong power cable in and cooked it.

    My edge router seems to have a corrupted filesystem. I think its fixable if I flash the os. If its not then I might need to replace the storage again which would be annoying.

  • KDE looks modern, has features I didnt even know I wanted. Whatever I can think of wanting it's either already there or I make a post on the fourm and its there in a month.

    When I had an issue with an update removing something that I liked. I made a post and KDE devs added a toggle so I could keep the functionality I had before. Even though it was a minor thing they could have told me not to worry.

  • I'm not sure the most unpopular. Ive got one with 63 down votes where I'm saying I don't care that a tankie/isreali/Nazi contributed to a Foss project I use. I still agree with it and think all the responses were dumb.

    I found one that was from someone who said something like "this lefty behaviour is why we got trump again" that had 100 down votes.

  • Yes they are. Samsung and SK hynix are building 4 new fabs I'm Korea 1 in the US. Sandisk and kioxia are building extra capacity in Japan. Micron is building new fan in the US. Its nearly a trillion in investment for additional capacity. These are expected to hit the market in 2027 and 2028 with lag to backfill demand.

    Chinese ram will be good but not good enough to block it. Business will keep buying the high preformance stuff and consumers can have the cheap modules but they buy so little it won't affect anything.

    1. My parents tried to give me money but also could clearly not afford to so I felt guilty if I ever needed to take some from them. I ended up getting a job after school. In hindsight I was exploited since I worked 30-45mins overtime unpaid everyday but I was happy and I did a good job and the money was a lot for me at the time.

  • The open models are good enough. We will at least have what is available today and thats enough for most use cases. Deepseek v4 is dirt cheap and its really good.

    It doesnt seem like anyone is going to make a massive leap since theyre all training data and compute bottlenecked.

  • Probably use it as the deposit for a house. 50+100 would allow me to get a 4 bedroom house with a 20 year mortgage but I'd probably go for a small apartment and pay it off in 5 years. It'd save me quite a bit extra on the interest as well.

  • I'm so blackpilled on the average person. These stats mean nothing because the average person not trusting a tech company does absolutely nothing to push them away from it. 80% distrust AI but 50% use it and the stat is growing.
