That one Israeli on the Threadiverse. No, sending me death threats won't change my mind, try arguments instead

Hello! That's my main mbin account, my alt is @Fitik, I also have a furry/personal account at @fitik

I'm just a regular person from Israel🇮🇱, a queer, and a #Fediverse enthusiast! I'm a liberal

I don't post much stuff, but when I do I usually post about #tech because I've mostly given up on trying to argue politics on there

  • This is a full announcement, sounds like they're going on a full Twitter way

The original post has 1.5k likes and 2k replies so obv not everyone are happy about Twitter alternative just turning into Twitter

  • I think the closest thing on the Fedi to what you're looking for is #Mitra , it's Fedi software supporting payments and subscriptions, you can check it out. There's a list of instances on FediDB.

Content subscription service. Subscriptions provide a way to receive monthly payments from subscribers and to publish private content made exclusively for them.

Supported payment methods: Monero, a peer to peer digital cash system where transactions are private by default.

  • I'm not sure if the 13k number is accurate, because if you'll look at the list a lot of Misskey instances don't report their MAU for some reason

  • @unknown1234_5@kbin.earth

    1. First of all I think it would fit better in !mbinmeta@gehirneimer.de
    2. To answer your question, MBin has "microblog" tab, when you open it you can see a text field, this is where text that you wanna write goes. To mention people you write @ username @ instance.name , like I wrote at the start of this message. You also have to choose a magazine, if you're unsure you can just choose "random".
  • I mean that's not the only thing, I can follow this MBin account that I'm using to talk with you from Threads, and I can interact with Threads posts as well, I've even gotten likes from there

Something like that is impossible with Twitter, altho I wouldn't be fully against the idea to reconnect with a few people I know who refused to leave it for whatever reason

Also, look at the bright side, people that use Threads at least don't use Twitter, I think it's a small step in the right direction, no?

  • You can always choose an instance that defederates Threads, that the beauty of the open web

  • To be fair there's a lot of ad spam bots that I see on Mastodon as it is.. I see better moderation tools as a solution, not being a walled garden

  • FYI Framasoft, non profit behind PeerTube also has an official Lemmy community on !framasoft@lemmy.world , I was surprised to see how small it is, so give them a follow

  • I think the mobile app was released around that time, that's probably what happened

Edit: I was wrong, the mobile app was released in December, I'm unsure what happened then

  • Microblogging Fediverse software that also supports build-in payments/subscriptions AFAIK

  • It's cool too, but it's more like it's own thing

  • I think the Friendica might be close to what you're looking for, it's not the Lemmy UI, but you can both follow Lemmy communities and different people from there, it's feature-rich like Facebook, and the feel is pretty similar as well

  • @TheArstaInventor@lemmy.world Okay, you're right, this actually looks better than the first screenshot you posted, I know that Lemmy already develops new UI tho, so I am not sure there's really a point because it's gonna change anyways?

  • True, you're right, we'll see, they still say that the "Fediverse sharing" is in beta so things can change
