  • No, I don't. I realise this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a lot of people who worked hard for a long time, but it's still a shit opportunity supporting horrible people.

    I also don't approve of China, Iran, Russia, etc.

    Athletes with moral integrity need to publicly declare that they won't play for authoritarians.

    BaseID is unique to each character and can be found as you described, RefID is unique to each instance of that character.

    If you spawn a character in with BaseID it will be a new copy of the NPC without the same items and unknown interractions with flags set.

  • If you're trying to res a specific NPC you might be able to use commands to move the corpse to you rather than going to it.

    If it has a source online then the AI does nothing but obscures and pollutes that information until it is commonly wrong and/or useless.

    Any "short project" utilizing AI deserves to fail, and it will, because nobody wants to buy slop and the mere inclusion of AI degrades to value of everything it touches.

  • For the unaware, the entirety of FO:NV development could be considered "crunch time" because the studio, Obsidian, got royally screwed on the contract to make the game instead of the main Bethesda studio(s).

    The result is that the game originally had some plan for vehicles, most of which never made it past concept, but never got implemented. So, in order to make a moving Tram to ride into vegas from the south, if you somehow manage to complete an obscure and somewhat buggy sidequest to stop it from getting blown up, they just made the Tram an NPC which physically runs along the track. It works surprisingly well.

  • I had to think about it for a bit but this is good news because it means less power consumed and CEOs will see it as US workers being more competitive (although AI doesn't actually have any capability to compete with human work, but CEOs don't know that).
