  • How do you know?

I choose to avoid saying he's a child rapist because I have no proof, but my personal conviction is that Trump likes em as young as Epstein.

  • The thing that scares me is Vance

Yes, Vance is a much more dangerous Nazi than Trump, because he's intelligent.

But Vance has the charisma of a wet mop, and at the moment, the Trump regime isn't quite entrenched enough to survive on fear alone - which is the only way Vance could take over and stay in power. For the moment, the regime still needs Trumps' populism, whatever remains of it.

If Trump falls tomorrow, there's a very good chance that the entire fascist shitshow will collapse and Vance will be flushed with it. But it won't take long for the regime to be in a position to survive without Trump. So hopefully the Epstein thing will be his undoing sooner rather than later.

  • If it's true - and it increasingly looks like it is - then I'm really glad that people get all worked up about the prez being a fucking pedo.

But I'm utterly dismayed that they aren't at least ten times more worked up that he's a fucking Nazi actively trying to destroy the republic and install himself as a dictator.

People have a strange set of priorities...

  • Even if it's "papered", a deal with Trump is worth as much as Trump's willingness to respect his own commitments. And his record isn't stellar.

Anyway, like everything else, Trump didn't want a deal: he wanted something to announce to distract from the Epstein files.

  • It's quite staggering to see the US regressing from putting a man on the moon to medicine with leeches in 50 years. What a sad, sad country.

  • Most "apps" today are browsers disguised as native applications running a pile of web 2.0 crap locally. A dead giveaway is the sheer amount of disk, memory and CPU they require.

An example of this most people are familiar with is Teams, which is nothing more than a glorified IRC client but requires gigabytes of disk and RAM.

But it's not limited to sloppy, hateful companies like Microsoft: FreeTube too is an Electron app, and while it is a favorite among open-source enthusiasts and Google haters, it is also a resource hog.

The point being, if it runs in a hidden browser you can't control, you can be certain it does everything it would do in YOUR browser if you didn't install NoScript and uBlock Origin, and configure it for security and privacy. In other words, if the app maker is adversarial like Microsoft, it's almost certainly spyware, and you're indeed better off running the app off their website with your regular browser instead.

Not to mention, if your browser is already open and burning tons of RAM by itself, why open a second one?

  • He's going to give Maxwell a pardon

I highly doubt that: the way this whole affair is now framed, it would be a screaming admission of guilt.

That's the amusing twist with Ghislaine Maxwell: Trump is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't.

If I was her, I'd string Trump along, promising to absolve him of any wrongdoing publicly in front of a camera, then tell the real truth and blow up his presidency, to gun for a pardon from the next administration.

At the very least, she'd get some sympathy points from the general public. Because she sure ain't gonna get nothing from Trump himself.

  • This would have been disqualifying for any public official not so long ago. Now politicos lie, flip-flop and grift freely and openly, and it's just a fact of life. Like it was normal or something...

  • Trump is clutching at straws and will throw any amount of chaff to try to deflect the Epstein missile closing in on him.

I say Trump and not they, because Gabbard is just a puppet here, like all of Trump's nominees. And of curse Trump himself is just a puppet of the Heritage Foundation...

  • This list is suggestive. Stop telling yourself it's a few bad apples. Stop telling yourself "there are pedophiles in every large enough organization." There are not this many pedophiles in every political party. Both sides are not the same. When Slate went looking for an equivalent list of Democratic pedophiles, they were able to come up with: a random donor, the head of a local Young Democrats, and Anthony Weiner's sexts. Not a speaker of the House, a Chief Justice, and a President.

The article suggests pedos are natural-born conservatives - or vice-versa. My theory is that there are probably as many pedos in the Democratic party, but they're smart enough not to get caught.

  • Elon Musk’s X on Monday denied allegations made by French authorities as part of a criminal investigation into alleged data tampering, adding that it would not submit to the prosecutor’s demand to hand over data.

Okay fine, have it your way and get banned from operating in France. And nothing of value will be lost to France: any country where this fascist-adjacent cesspool is banned is a better place.

  • Assembly pff...

The future is vibe coding! If it had been made with Claudepilot with the right types-question guy, it would be 10,000,000 times speedier.

  • "Vibe coding"...

Just like with other things in life, as a older man, I refrain from saying "Today's music is shit" or "Kids these days!" because I'm keenly aware that this is not my world anymore, my world is stuck in the past and whatever set of values and knowledge I grew up with belong squarely to that past.

But seriously. Vibe coding? This world is seriously fucked up...

Anyway, if you vibe-code, don't come to me to fix it: you can vibe-debug it yourself.

  • If it was, the timing was terrible.

The way this happened couldn't have been timed more perfectly to send a loud and clear message to Trump that it's his turn to scratch Paramount's and Skydance's back.

  • Reminds me of an old joke:

    Masochist: Hurt me!Sadist: No...

  • Woohoo... Yeah... Go slop...

  • MAGAts suing anyone for teasonous conspiracy is irony at its best.

  • I don't think Trump diddled children himself. But I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand in running that sordid business, and if not, I'm certain at the very least he knew what was going on. Nobody denies allegations that strenuously without having something to hide.
