I mostly print large functional parts, so FDM is the best solution for that, and I just happen to also use it for printing minis because I already have it. I don't have work space free for resin printing too, with all the extras it needs for handling and curing.
I really don't want to deal with resin, I don't have room for a proper safe workstation for it.
I think ASA with acetone vapour will smooth out too much detail, which is already limited. The layer-lines aren't really an issue either, i print at 0.08mm thickness (it takes forever to print these...)
We need to figure out how to get it higher up on the Play Store's search results rather than it being impossible to discover at something like #40 on that list
You pay...no way around that. Google has rigged the search in the store, you will never get a good search location unless you pay.
It's not just smaller, it also has limitations in materials it can print because it's not an enclosed printer. The core one can print ABS/ASA much more reliably, PC, Nylon and other fancy stuff the A1 just can't. Their motion systems are also completely different as the core one uses coreXY and the A1 is coreXZ (aka. bedslinger).
A decent bedslinger is easy to come by these days, if that's all you need there are many others to go with, e.g. Sovol which is using open source klipper.
They're not comparable printers though, you should be comparing the Prusa core one to the Bambu P1-series. The Bambu P1-series is still less than half of the prusa core one of course.
The cost seems pretty obvious TBH...they're subsidising their car industry to a much higher degree than European and American countries in order to achieve a greater market share and by extension control of large foreign car consumer markets. Given enough time, they will capture significant market shares in these markets due to artificially low prices outside of regular market competition.
There's of course also the general increased security risk of the Chinese government being plugged in to all the companies making these cars with black box software and always connected to the internet.
Why not? Pretty much everything except the roof structure is made of bricks. My house is entirely bricks; an outer and an inner wall separated by a gap with insulation, with a wooden skeleton for the roof secured to the brick walls. All interior walls are either made of bricks (the originals built with the house in the 60's) or aerated concrete blocks (added in a refurbishing later in the 00's).
I have never in my 20 years of driving seen one with more than two digits, and I (unfortunately) have driven by them with +100km/h before and they absolutely flash at you (without showing numbers). I am fairly reluctant to believe your statements given my own experience.
No it's not...it's because they're two digit LED dot matrix displays, they're always used in areas with maximum 80km/h speed limits and doesn't really need any more than that. They can't display numbers higher than 99 due to their config, but will still flash at you for speeding. It is not an intentional decision specifically to avoid situations like this.
