Bliss is still in my rotation of wallpapers. Something about a standard KDE install with the XP default wallpaper tickles me.
The nostalgia is for sure a big factor. Windows 95/98 were my first memories of computers, but XP was the first OS I was really allowed to discover on my own. I was quite the fan, when my family "upgraded" to a barely-meets-the-minimum-specs Vista Ready™ PC I soon after tried to "downgrade" it to XP.
During which I managed to bork something and nothing would boot, not even the recovery disc I had burned. Thus started a three day troubleshooting journey to fix the family PC. I think my parents were too startled by my determination to figure it out to get angry at me.
And here I am almost two decades later, spending the last three days trying to manually setup a seedbox despite there being a myriad of easy deployment methods. Most of those three days have been focused on setting up a firewall, restricting access to docker containers behind a VPN, and of course the ol' troublemaker DNS.
The feeling when I figure out something I've been struggling with is still just as exhilarating as when I saw Windows XP boot up for the first time on the family PC way back when. Seeing the familiar rolling Californian wine-country hill, immortalized by Charles O'Rear on film in January 1996. I often wonder if Charles knew at the moment, when looking upon the bucolic scenery, that one day the image would become synonymous to many with the advent of the digital age. The hill is forgotten, but the 1s and the 0s live on forever.

An extremely subjective and esoteric set of criteria. Sometimes it's because the representation of Jesus is hot, sometimes the crucifix is rather ornate, sometimes it's just different from what I've seen before.
I ended up with three crucifixes by various happenstance, and then I kinda just started buying cool ones whenever I'd see any in thrift stores.

If you go about it with curiosity, especially if you focus on recipes instead of ethics, you're probably good. Sharing food is such a big social thing that you get a bit ostracized from when you're vegan, so it truly is nice to share recipes with earnest people like you seem to be.
Now if only I can figure out vegan meals that would do well in my smoker!
I've never used a smoker so I'm not quite familiar with the process, but my first instinct would be trying something with seitan. I did find some recipes with just a quick search.
If you do smoke some seitan, feel free to invite me, I'll bring drinks! :P

I've never made anyone become vegan, but a lot of my friends have definitely opened up to incorporating more vegetarian or vegan meals into their diets, which I do count as a small win.
A friend who used to be very much the meat & potatoes type has recently been texting me excitedly about the new vegan recipes he's been trying out. He still regularly eats meat, but hey, it's something.

I've been vegan for nearly ten years, I dread any time the topic comes up with people who aren't also vegan.
It usually becomes a pointless debate where I either have to heavily self-censor, or end up hurting the feelings of people who eat animal products. It's always the same conversations I've already had hundreds of times, no one's gonna change my mind and I probably won't change theirs either.
I have a pretty addictive personality and I thank the stars that I've never enjoyed coke on the handful of occasions I've tried it. It just made me feel overly talkative to the point of being annoying.
I was around 20 when I first started browsing trans subreddits "as an ally", and I also made a few jokes to some friends about how "I'm probably non-binary lol".
I was 23 when I finally actually came to terms with my gender and sexual orientation. Those three years were rough :P
