Boycott list for mod abuse and power trips: lemmy.ml, blahaj.zone, lemmy.zip | Warning list: lemmy.ca

  • When that coworker tells you "hah you must have generated this" but you coded this yourself 👀

  • More maintainable that whatever shit it put out

Frankly I believe it can be maintainable if the person doing the prompting actually does something and correctly do their role of human reviewing and correcting. Vibe coding without any review is dooming the software maintainability

  • So most of them... yea nah, sorry, not a good take imo

But I agree that those videos should be put on alternatives like peertube or odysee

  • Eh it might be hilarious though

  • That’s nice too I guess, and more eco friendly

But there are different types of boilerplate, planning for all of them can be a bit of a pain

  • I would love to know if this actually makes a difference though haha. I believe it might make a slight one as it could try to rethink about it depending on the model

I usually just ask it to recheck line by line for bugs with a thinking model and that’s pretty good at solving potential bugs, but they still need to be reviewed obviously. I only use open weight models though so they might be a bit inferior

  • If you write tests and add features you can easily go up to 1000, don’t know what you're talking about

  • I guess every privacy video on YouTube is wrong then, according to you

  • If it’s not stored, not a big problem, but yea that’s useless bullshit that’s just annoying and feels like a breach in our lives

  • This might actually be true, I think I misremember my calculations but I know I compared it some time ago, and realized it was way cheaper at home, and comparing the prices I pay outside and those, it might very well be the case

  • New drivers will be new drivers regardless. It will most likely just end up as a stored car or a replaced car of another car

  • Those cars are really expensive compared to entry level ones, which clearly don’t have fast charging nor big capacity

  • Depends on the car. Waste of resources sure, but it can reduce emissions depending on the car

  • For a lot of people it’s number 7 and I mean, that’s sad

1 is real though, and it can be a pain

There’s also the case where some areas are isolated and there’s no charger nearby and that can be a pain, and yea, that’s not a good spot to be in

Finally, if you can’t charge at home, you’re not really going to save on electricity price compared to fuel, so that’s not the best purchase, and it might be a pain to charge frequently outside if you have an cheap car that charges slowly

  • It’s just a simple DoB input, which can be local afaik

  • That’s nice, congrats for your dedication

  • That’s really nice! I went ahead and setup Element on all my devices as well, but I’m not as enthusiastic. Most people won’t bother changing. It was a pain to make people move from WhatsApp / iMessage to Signal already

  • The problem is how will you do for most services and websites? They have support on discord for the most part (especially for coding stuff, or games)

  • If you really cared and could delete it without problem, it would have been deleted way earlier, no?

I have a hard time believing people actually do these things.
