  • Vegetables are just the parts if plants that we eat. A potato is a vegetable. It's also not a root, it is a stem. The roots that's grow off of it over time are actually branches.

  • Also the Terry Gilliam directed Harry Potter movies.

  • I'm not disagreeing with you, just wanted to share that my mom's high school year book from the early 90s has a picture of one of her teachers dressed like a nazi performing a sieg heil, all for display as a part of the curriculum. She said no one batted an eye or voiced concern for it back then. I truly hope we don't see things like that return to classrooms today, but it wasn't that long ago that it was normal either. I would assume a lot of the people pushing this bill might have experienced something similar.

  • If you flipped all the images in manga. All right handed characters are suddenly left handed and vice versa. Everyone is driving on the opposite side of the road. East becomes west and west is east. Anything that is spelled out that isn't in text bubbles is now a mirror image (like a sign hanging over a shop). Most translated manga books and e readers will explain this if they don't flip the images.

  • You would literally be Mr. House

  • Never been a football fan. But I very much want to see the entire stadium call Drake a pedophile at halftime.

  • The first time I went to one of those places I assumed they sold sushi by the piece not the roll. The way the menu worked, they gave you a paper menu and whatever you want you write a number next to that item and they give you that many servings. No where on the menu did it say that sushi was by the roll, which i think 8 or 20 pieces. But a serving of hibachi or fried rice was a couple of bites a serving. If all you wanted was hibachi, you could easily order 5. You could imagine my surprise when I saw my order after ordering 1 of every sushi.

  • I assumed it was meant to be gang, but the "a" would've been censored anyway so it was just excluded.

  • I down voted them for the weird tirade about privilege and being an abused kid. Idk wtf that has to do with hating spotify, but lemmy would look much better without that garbage in the comments.

  • This would have been a great first reply. Spamming the same 2 paragraphs in quotes to everyone who didn't fully understand the intent in the article makes you come off a bit like a jerk. I do appreciate the legit answer though.

  • I guess Mississippi isn't the first place I assumed would joke about banning masturbation 5 days into Trump Land.

  • I guess not. What am I missing?

  • I read the article, why would I feel differently?

  • My girlfriend was in a similar situation. The people at FASFA will work with you if you can prove that your parents will not comply and you aren't financially dependent on them. As long as your friend wasn't living with her parents, she likely didn't have to get married.

  • A friend of mine found a loophole at a burrito shop as well. They had some old points system where you'd have to go to a url on the receipt, and enter a code for a free taco. Eventually the promotion ended because they stopped printing the URL, but they never shut down the webpage either. So he continued to get free tacos from the old webpage, but whatever proof of purchase was needed could be used from the same receipt used to get the previous free taco. He doesn't do it too often so no one catches on, but he would eat for free there once or twice a week.

  • A guy i work with does this but he buys visa gift cards.

  • So can you answer the question now that we know it's China? Why is it worse that China has user info over the US?

  • I first watched Sons of Anarchy for free on Hulu!

  • There is little to no repercussions for Meta.
