  • Thank you

  • Thank you. I was actually thinking of that. I’ll need to find out how and then will go for it for sure.

  • You got it running? You good? Also, I’m happy that you like it. When I make something for myself, I make sure I love it, otherwise, I wouldn’t share it at all. Let me know if you need any help.

  • Screenshots are in.

  • I agree with you 100%. This is on me. I’ll be putting screenshots there as soon as I get home. I just kept hammering at the app and forgot about the screenshots. Good call out.

  • Functionality wise, the official one works no problem. It’s the UI. I’m a visual person and like eye candy. I liked how the iOS app Still looked, so I thought why not? Wanted to have fun with it. That’s all :)

Edit: I’ll be adding screenshots soon.Edit 2: screenshots are now in.

  • That’s ok. I’m very much upfront about it. I’m not selling and making money, nor will I ever even ask for donations. I use AI for building things only for myself and literally have never shared with anyone before because I know some folks just don’t like it. But this one was too good not to share. It’s out there, and those who hate AI aren’t forced to use it. Is that fair?

  • I started working on an Android app that is technically a copy of the iOS app Still. It’s crazy how there are only two apps on Android for Audiobookshelf that are fully functional

  • I’ve started working on a copy of still for Android. It got really frustrating that there were only two apps for Android and both aren’t what I want, so I’m creating a Still copy.

  • She fucking loved it. She literally deleted the other one right away.

It does have some things locked behind a paywall, but they’re not essentials to the app like downloading a book like other apps did. This one locks some customizations and adding more than one server behind a paywall, which is something I don’t have anyway and she doesn’t care about customization on the Home Screen. I’m still going to buy the premium to support the dev anyway.

    Thank you so much <3

  • I know for a fact they’re better than a physical book, but I just can’t focus and understand them. It’s insane how my brain just blocks them. The other day, I literally even stared at the screen trying to follow the book, a couple of seconds later, I was thinking of something else. 😂. Gave up. I might need some training or something

  • I think we are all set on Audiobookshelf and Audiobooth. I appreciate you :)

  • I’ll leave that part for the wife to take care of, since she’s the one who does audiobooks. I can’t. I will never be able to actually listen to an audiobook no matter how much I try. I don’t know if it’s my ADHD or what, but I just can’t focus.

  • What a gorgeous app. I don’t listen to audiobooks, I can never focus, ever. I have to read words, otherwise I’d definitely use this app.

  • Found a FOSS client that doesn’t leech, they don’t lock anything behind a paywall, they just ask for a donation as an option, which is very nice of them. Already sent them one donation and I’ll be sending more if the wife enjoys her new app :)

  • I SelfHosted a buncha things. I’ve been working on moving away from big tech for a while now. Set up ABS to experiment with it and it’s been nice so far. Found a decent iOS client that is FOSS. It’s called Audiobooth. Wife is the iOS user, I’m a user of both iOS and Android.

  • Thank you. I’ve set it up on the server and I’m now experimenting with it. Pretty nice so far

  • Thank you :)
