  • Because when its good, its so fucking good. They spend literal millions developing their menu to give you a dropkick to the balls of dopamine. FAT! SALT! MSG! HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP! REPEAT!

But that requires the stars to align. You need the buns and salad items to not be stale, the chips and meat for the burger to be hot and fresh, the burger to be assembled by someone giving half a fuck, the postmix machine to be set up correctly and give you the right mix, actually fizzy and ice cold. You rarely get the whole meal "just right" but when it is, that one perfect meal sticks in your brain like a catchy song and will carry you through the next half a dozen so-so feeds while you chase the dragon.

These days I only allow myself one trip to KFC a month and I go in and sit down in the restaurant because if something isnt right I go complain and ask for a remake because I spend 29 days a month counting every calorie and tracking every macro because you are not gonna fuck up my blowout meal.

  • I think you got what I meant twisted.

Its sad that thats where American thinking HAS to go because America had 69 victims and 12 shooters dead in 300+ incidents last year. Australia has had 6 incidents and 2 deaths since 1991 and our schools have fences too.

Theres dozens of reasons outside of shootings that schools may want to control access and yeah it does look like a prison and it is sad.

  • Yeah but in 4 years unless Trump tries to go full Putin thats going to matter.

  • Vance doesnt have the cult of personality behind him.

  • See the sad thing is that almost your entire thoughts on this is centered around school shootings. Theres tons of other reasons schools might put up fences but to Americans kids deciding to ditch school and get into shit or getting themselves hurt or parents with custody disputes trying to gain access to their child when they shouldnt are just minor concerns.

  • Id say more people would know they have a vpn and what its for than people who could tell you what it stands for.

Like average people knowing they have DNA and what it does but cant tell you what its an acronym for.

  • I genuinely believe that the best case scenario for America is that it all goes to shit SO FAST that even his most ardent supporters have to say "No, this is fucked. He needs to go."

  • Id like to think that Tom Hanks wouldnt attach his name to a lazy obvious cash grab.

  • Thanks :)

  • Bro, link that video.

  • 2005 Peugeot 206 Gti.

I blew up my car on saturday and it was a very cheap shitbox that I could buy with cash on hand on a sunday to get to work Monday.

Im working my way through everything wrong with it upgrading as I go. If I make it through the problems list, then Ill have an amazing base to start adding horsepower and removing practicality once I get a new daily driver.

  • Battletech and the Shadowrun games from HBS.

  • No. Its lazy.

A Rabbi and a Priest are walking down a street in Israel and they see a Palestinian kid with a sign that says "Homeless Orphan, please help" the priest says "We should fuck that kid" the Rabbi says "Out of what!?! I thought we got everything!"

  • The worst part about the healthcare in America situation is how easy it would be to take 90% of the pressure off while not inherently changing the system, THEY JUST WONT.

I'm not even talking about life saving drugs and chronic conditions requiring specialists. If they can do it in a bush clinic in Uganda it shouldnt be expensive. If someone can set and plaster a broken arm in a tent with a folding table it shouldnt cost $5000 in a modern hospital. Your kid falling off their bike and needing an Xray should not be expensive. Going to a GP to confirm that "Yeah bro, your just sick" so you dont get fired SHOULDNT BE A THING let alone cost more than you would have made at work that day.

  • At my work we do check peoples socials very basically, but the people who have everything set to private arent the concern, we like that. We worry about the ones who have to vomit every little bit of their life onto the internet complete with pictures.

We all have to deal with asshole customers but if your posts start winding up on community pages and other users start tagging the company, you're going to have a bad time. Especially if you violated customer privacy at any point.

  • Its not that I'm comparing myself to "Perfect" truth is Ive lost 35kg in 2 years, I'm super happy with my progress but I know why I dont look the way I'd like. Im a middle aged man, I dont recover like a 20yo, I have less HGH and test than a 20yo I dont get enough sleep, I have a demanding job and kids... Theres only so many hours in the day, I can only recover so fast, I can only diet and train so hard. For a while it really began to mess with my head.

I'm just saying that people can take exercise and improving themselves to an unhealthy place too. "Treat yoself" isnt a lifestyle, its wallowing in easy dopamine, but a life of depriving yourself of everything that makes you happy and constantly hammering yourself physically is just not sustainable and it can take you places mentally that are just as unhealthy.

  • I have sympathy for his loved ones to some degree, in the same way I have sympathy for the family of people who commit horrible crimes and then have to see their family member taken away and locked up for life.

Im sure he had redeeming qualities to them, but to society he was not a net positive.

  • Nah, I'm on top of it. I had a real struggle putting the brakes on my last cut. I dropped a kilo(2lbs) a week for 12 weeks and when it came to an end I was like "Number must keep dropping! Number cant go back up!" and it took a few weeks for me to calm down and get back to normal eating. Doesnt help that I have addict wiring in my brain.

I had a lot of empathy for teenage girls for a few weeks, I was SO CLOSE to having visible abs but I was hitting burnout hard and needed to go back to maintenance for a bit.

  • Yeah but then you hit the point that I'm at which is "I do this SO MUCH and my diet is SO GOOD why do I still look SO AVERAGE!?!

and you see concerning behaviors from yourself that are the beginnings of eating disorder territory and start fucking with supplements that simultaneously "dont work" but yet are banned by sporting bodies... and the stupid exercise becomes part of your mental health problem.
