  • I used to have that similar sort of fear, but for different reasons. And when I was like younger than 10. For me it was actually vampires for some reason. But then a new commercial channel opened, they started showing Buffy the Vampire Slayer and with her, Spike, Drusilla and especially Angel, my fears went... right out the window.

So my anecdote was more about losing fears with stories I guess.

  • Someone needs to make a meme comparing regular white cells to Klingon white cells.

    Human white cells be like

    Klingon white cells be like

  • Imagine being a Samoan shopkeeper and some tourist showing up and trying to pay with a friggin statue of Hogwarts.

  • There's only so many ways a tube can be made unique.

Sure. But it's not just about the tube. It's mostly about the ball.

At last - China learns how to make a ballpoint pen

That's from 2017. Until then, China had to rely on importing the little steel balls from Switzerland despite making 80% of the world's pens.

  • Lol, no. You're just wrong. You think its not allowed to film on the street when you're in Switzerland? That you'd need to stop every single person and ask for their permission? If you genuinely believe that, then you're not the sharpest pen in the case.

    Germany the same.

You need to ask for permission if you go up to someone's face and make them the primary target of your filming. But for just general filming for personal use, nope, you're wrong, it's allowed in public.

Why don't you google shit before being so incorrect publicly?

Or perhaps did some hardcore googling where you don't actually look for info on the subject, but instead decide how a thing is and then google to find any random post on some forum agreeing with it, without sources.

It's the same law I mentioned earlier. These have been accounted for decades before you were even born, and it honestly would've been really easy for you to figure that out instead of just trying to prove your delusions correct. Perhaps you asked an LLM with a prompt that already had it as an assumption and then it hallucinated a bunch of shit. But yeah, you're wrong.

  • Tell me a place which does.

Places which you aren't allowed to film on the street?

Because no matter how furiously you google, a majority of the world allows it. Who doesn't are like Chinese and Russians, but even they only limit it in certain cities / landmarks. So in a country like North Korea, you'd have "reasonable expectation of privacy", except ofc you don't it's a totalitarian dictatorship.

Every single photographer knows this. Or should know it at least, basic laws covering privacy.

In general, one cannot have a reasonable expectation of privacy for things put into a public space.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reasonable_expectation_of_privacy

    "But that's just America"

Yeah I'm not American. I most intimately know Finnish laws and while there's a million Karens who get upset if they think they're being filmed (especially cops, I went to the supreme court and won when they prevented me from filming in my phone).

And there's nothing in the GDPR that would ban filming in public or say that in public one could reasonably expect privacy. The exception is you can't use that material for commercial purposes without a permit. But it's completely fine for personal use.

  • Yes, that's the point I was making. Trying to make, with sarcasm. Failed, I guess. It's stupid as shit to panic now and getting rid of some glasses won't get rid of perverts recording in secret. Literally been an issue since the invention of photography.

Also, phones are cameras. And very visible.

So like, dumb people can think what they think, I just don't have the energy to fight it anymore. Well not as much as I used to anyway

  • I mean... if they're only now starting to notice and get uncomfortable, then, well. I guess just, good on them, for finally noticing?

  • Shouldn't be vitamin D with that amount of sun, tbh.

15 min of sun exposure 2-3 times a week even when wearing a t-shirt should be sufficient for most white people.

Perhaps it could've been some sort of underlying vitamin D production issue, so that he knew he sort of wanted it, but his body just didn't produce it despite sun exposure.

But yeah you don't need to literally tan yoself to get sufficient sun exposure for vitamin d, even at higher latitudes.

  • Hidden cameras and recordings have been things for like 100 years.

Edit and privacy law's reflect that.

Also everyone is literally constantly pointing a camera at you in public with their phones. Public places don't have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

  • swore I was cheating somehow because if she couldn't do it, a kid couldn't either

because kids don't read books like that.

School was kinda annoying with how it would punish you for being anywhere outside of normal. Even if it was positive.

This 100x. I taught myself how to read before going to first grade. The reward was being isolated in an empty classroom for a lot of first grade when others were learning to spell. Well there was one other kid, but she didn't speak. She had been taught by her extremely strict parents to read before school. They had like 7 children and were horribly strict. This girl starter crying once when she got what's equivalent to an A-, afraid she was going be yelled at at home.

There was a special class for anyone below average. But dear me, if you were above average no you weren't, because that's just rude.

Doing any work I was given faster than other didn't result in getting more challenging work. It just resulted in getting more of the same boring shit I'd already shown I know very well.

I could've been one of those kids who go to college at 14, but nooooo. I just learned to avoid work and hide my skills

  • Edit the camera was shitter than my older phone, apologies

Edit 2 for law enforcement this picture is >2 y old

Edit 3 I'd consider that like an 8/10 for my own grows

  • I was gonna be like "fkin Americans commenting again on me mentioning military service" since 75% of males here do it, but yeah, this one was good.

I'm proud. I was a bit hesitant, actually, about ordering a new tent, (since my last one got confiscated, again, 2nd bust in all), but with that comment, I think I'm gonna have to continue serving.

  • "Are those sharks with laserbeams attached to their heads?"

  • Idk man I've been making pretty good money out of growing weed and am not protected. Even with the occasional bust, it's still a net plus.
