Fediverse is worse than Reddit. Mod abuse, admin abuse, disinformation, and people simping for literal terrorists.

  • Even worse on Linux. Even worse on more exotic distros like Bazzite where I still can't get koboldcpp to run, which was already kind of a hassle on my previous distro.

  • I'm amazed that YouTube doesn't try and do this somehow.

They do. They even give the creator statistics on which thumbnail generated more clicks (completely ignoring other factors so it's a misleading metric anyway).

  • It's no one's fault. It's a system that creates a race to the bottom.

Hard disagree. It's everyone's fault who actually supports the practice in some form or another.

DeArrow hopes to stop this cycle. It's time to return to a more peaceful experience.

It would just "hide" the clickbait, which would cause people who block clickbait, to suddenly click on clickbait, further supporting the clickbait norm through additional clicks that weren't there before.

  • For those who like canned meat but want it to be more ethical or environmentally friendly?

  • NSFW / 18+ tags are usually used for nudity, sexual content, or gore. So, things you either don't want or can't look at. Using them for just news articles on violent crimes (that don't show graphic images) or even things like swear words is excessive and unnecessary and ultimately degrades the tags meaning.

  • Do people seriously not know what a freaking mammoth is?!

  • Fucking hell. The word "AI" really lost all fucking meaning huh? Not just is it not applicable to LLMs, it's especially not the correct term to use for ordinary spam bots, which exist for decades by now.

  • As a non American I'm more salty about Oculus. lol Although at its height it was also severely annoying that every freaking company used FB pages instead of their own websites, including for support requests. So without FB you literally could not contact them. Luckily that trend only held up for a few years but it was still annoying as hell.

  • Shit. I'm gonna turn my alarm off and get some proper sleep the next days...

  • Always go pee. Yes, it's annoying as hell to crawl out of the comfy bed again. But it's even more annoying to wake up a couple hours later with an even fuller bladder - or even worse, to wake up with an emptier bladder.

  • 5 bucks per month per active user sounds excessively expensive, no?

  • Assuming he did not upload the whole movie or demanded money for those scenes, I don't see how that's a good case for the copyright holder. Movie snippets are used all the time, everywhere, including YouTube, without this being much of an issue. The most glaring one there would be the auto detection, which again, is more to prevent actual piracy being shared.

Edit: Also, why is he getting arrested instead of getting a letter?!

  • No one in “The West” outside of the CIA ever thinks about Russia when they aren’t putting their dick in the punchbowl.

They're literally bathing in the punch bowl for at least a decade+ now. Surely there's people who do give a fuck. I do.

  • Hence why I suggested private groups. We've seen it successfully in Germany from the other side with groups like Reconquista Germanica, which completely changed German comment sections to the worse since the refugee crisis. People need to organize and pool their knowledge into their own networks to destabilize Russia.

  • You don't need highly skilled intelligence officers to pour disinformation into social media. The largest hurdle is the language barrier but aside from that it would be doable by people like you and me. The last decade or so really showed how easy it actually is, because there's just enough gullible useful idiots who buy into this shit, helping to spread it even further.

  • I hope you're aware the West isn't just the US (or worse, that republicans are in control of the entire West), and neither are the information related to this leak just about the US.
