  • I travelled a lot but have shit memory so I can't recount much

  • Ok so I'm just my own system administrator, yet I like systemd because I remember how much less... reliable the former alternatives were on my computers.

BUT. I dislike having to learn more commands just to read my logs, and systemd timers are awfully complicated when I just needed what cronjobs already did.

  • How did those children get their hands on an industrial production process?

  • Well, I have two macros for heatsoak, the one I use 90% of the time sets the tool head low at the center of the plate and turns on the part cooling fans to help heat the chamber up faster

  • Yeah but many kits aren't like that, so the less... electrically inclined should be wary

  • absolutely consistent, the stealthburner probe is usually at least 5°C higher than the z-chain one, but I think it's a viable option, after all when you start the print, your toolhead should be low, and if the temperature is ok at that height, it should be even hotter up top

  • TBH Voyager is the orginal "bad trek"

TOS was, well TOS, TNG had a rough start but was always viable, DS9 started with consolidated lore and respected it, albeit being of course darker than the others, VOY... had bad writing. Wackyness in itself is not a huge issue though.

DIS gets hate because it feels like they wanted to write a specific series and just used the Star Trek setting for it, instead of wanting to make a Star Trek series.

  • You know, if they didn't track and connect to your car, there would be nothing to hack! Cheaper all around!

  • I have a 9-year old Subaru I bought used, first thing I did was trash the "radio" and replace it with an iDoing chinese Android head unit. It's not super polished, but much better than the trash Subaru put on it. The good thing they did was NOT integrate it into the car too much, so replacing it meant losing no functionality at all.

  • so how do we interact with pixelfed from lemmy or mastodon?

  • I have one I the stealthburner, one poking out of the z-chain and one in the top extrusion under the cover ("frame" thermistor). Then there's the one in the cartographer, but that's only for its own compensation, pretty useless as an indicator.

  • Oh ok that makes more sense !

  • Yeah but LDO had the wires pre-made and everything, custom PCBs etc

  • A friend of mine has been gifted an x smart 3, he's having quite some trouble with it.. Granted, it's his first printer...

  • I've built my first Voron self-sourced, then got a good deal on an unused V0.2 kit, I've got to say that the LDO kit was like child's play, so I have to recommend them.

  • The printer is in my basement, which we don't actively heat. It's 60 °F / 25.5 °C down there.

Wow, my house is colder than that WITH heating

  • Build a klicky and ditch the z-endstop if it's a 2.4

I installed Cartographer and it's nice, but not super reliable so far.

  • I have 5mm acrylic panels on my V2.4 250 and I get 65°C no problem
