  • Passkeys are good if stores locally on the device. However, if used with a password manager the security benefit is lost, and thus actually weaker.

2fa, like Aegis for most people, or better yet Fido key for advanced users?

  • This is fucking hilarious.

  • What's app 😂 how does what's app ever get rolled in with privacy respecting apps

"Today, with the right information, right technology and algorithm, companies can create simulations of individuals, and use the machines to predict future actions such as purchases, locations, changes in career or relationship status.

According to a study published in 2019, there is a possibility of achieving 95% of the potential predictive accuracy for an individual using their social ties. This means that one’s social contacts are sufficient to predict their personal attributes."

  • Something like everyone can have a say, or input, we can call it democracy, digital democracy, unencumbered by the current neoliberal or rightist fascists. Maybe something where everyone can vote directly, or delegate, and revoke their delegation, with private voting, but open source. No multi trillion dollar budgets for people to cut back room deals for shit outlays. Where public goods funding is reinvigorated for the good of the people, not the administration.

We can call it democracy... something

  • Ai says Ai correction tool about how crappy Ai is at coding's article is 99 percent chance of being Ai, results generated by Ai. . .

  • People still use reddit, thought it was a bots only network

  • I was opposed to the bailouts in 08', and I'm severely against any of these fuckers getting more resources to attack me. It's absurd. What's more absurd is that both aisles will support it, but Americans healthcare will be at 5k a month 😂〽️

    Cleptocracy much?

  • Flintstone feet breaker floor box

  • If you want to be a billionaire go for it. There's literally no competition in this segment and everyone wants it.

  • Yes of course, electric motors are by and far more reliable, stronger, faster, cleaner, quieter, less polluting, simpler, easier to repair, cheaper.. should I continue..

Electric vehicles on the other hand 😅

  • I told my buddy overseas that insurance doesn't actually cover care. They didn't believe me, I was like no really- things can be out of network. They're like.. but you pay for coverage.. isn't that the point? No, absolutely not, the point is to maximize yachtholder value.

  • It doesn't matter what happens at this point- democracy is eroding under both parties, the left wing will have a swift and decisive backlash in 28', thus emboldening the remaining maggots. Centralization and authoritarianism will rule the day. Even if it's under a slightly more benevolent and less cankled orange donut.

Viva la revolucion. Step one is federated speech, or freedom of speech. Free of economic bastardization or undue censorship. Embolden the wise and free their musings.

  • First one to build the unconnected EV where the purchaser has admin rights (and no one else), wins the race.

Unfortunately, this model is probably already deemed illegal. Regulatory capture is a beautiful thing 👀😬🙊

  • You mean the Bezos mobile? Not a chance in hell.

Ownership has been flipped upside down for modern EV owners (and actually a lot more). You don't own the machine, nor the keys, you license the experience- software, data, and even the ability to start/ move the vehicle. 30k+ for remote access, EULAs, feature subscriptions to a connectivity mesh? Also the monthly connectivity costs and software updates for.. how long?

I'm not sure EV's are the brilliant solution to modern transport, entertainment perhaps but little to nothing to do with modern or futuristic transport.

  • Can I ask where you host your backup service without paying another cloud provider?

  • How secure is yuno? Is it actually secure plugging into your Ethernet for remote access to something like immich?

It's super intimidating when the weight of the weight of the global hacking community is attacking you from the moment you expose a port.

Is their progress on a simple sustainable solution to security? Is this the primary roadblock to self hosting becoming more common place? Or am I way off

  • When you're connecting to your local network, say from outside your home, you connect through proton vpn? I'm wanting to self host, but I thought I would have to switch between proton and whatever VPN the local machine is using? Say immich for instance

  • Denmark is trying to pry open their centralized health records database so Palantir can use it 😂, I mean, you know for uh crime and stuff.

  • We're already at that end of the alphabet again?
