  • Are those phrases in the comic based on real comments that some men tell women? Absolutely.

Panel 2 is also very similar to how men get treated when having been robbed or sexually assaulted by a woman.

Panels 3 & 4 just straight up apply to what men get told. Different phrasing to what you’d expect but the exact same result.

If you haven’t experienced it then that is awesome for you. I’m not going to focus on anecdotes here or we could be here all week and this isn’t a pissing match of who has it worse.

Someone starving on the other side of the planet wouldn’t make my hunger any better would it?

Recognising that there is a degree of shared experience here is far healthier for everyone and statements like this

Any man who sees this comic and takes offence to it, congratulations, you're the fucking problem.

When you have zero knowledge of what someone else has experienced is only going to push them away and make their future reactions more extreme.

There is a growing divide between young men and women driven by online vitriol. It helps no one.

These experiences are all rooted in sexism and it negatively affects both men and women to differing degrees, sometimes under similar circumstances.

Nuance and understanding are far more difficult than knee-jerk rage but it is important to try.

I see where PC is coming from, but she has a blind spot for the things men hear, because she isn’t a man and hasn’t got that lived experience.

So it’s a bad take not because it’s factually wrong that women hear these things but because it is tone deaf to the fact that men get told shit like this every day.

Again… it’s not a pissing match. Having it worse doesn’t invalidate another person’s problems.

  • I think this is the one.

I get what she’s aiming at but it’s a complete miss in my opinion. Men absolutely get mocked for all of those issues.

The getting robbed reaction is also true of men who’ve been raped or sexually assaulted.

I’m not convinced she’s a full on misandrist but she’s had some bad takes. Hard not to have some misses when you’ve made that much content.

  • Having scrolled through a couple years of her comics just to see for myself I think she’s mostly just anti-MAGA and occasionally overshoots a little into common men’s issues she has a blind spot for.

    I don’t think she’s misandrist she’s just not perfect.

  • You won't be able to without also disabling your car

Unlikely as that would mean any fault with the system would disable the car which would be a PR nightmare.

These systems can generally be disabled without more than an error light on the dash.

  • They said they were busy, which may well be true.

You started the discussion in a meandering and unprofessional manner which could be perceived as time wasting. Also who says their brain was broke? Very strange behaviour in a work setting.

Many people in a professional setting want things ‘to the point’ especially when they are busy.

Saying they didn’t read your emails may have been to save face for you if they considered the content embarrassing or unprofessional conduct.

  • If you can’t comprehend how site impersonation and search result manipulation aren’t relevant to the actual software vendor getting popped then you have zero comprehension of an actual kill chain.

But sure a package manager is totally safer because you made up an irrelevant scenario!

Nice you went back and checked with how little you cared lol

  • If you don’t see calling someone ignorant as an insult then I wish you well in a pub talking to a stranger.

I had a chuckle when I saw NPM yet again because it was one of the examples I used that you failed to address despite totally winning that discussion.

Hopefully manufacturing irrelevant scenarios works out for you in your career.

I absolutely believe you forgot your what, 5 or 6 comments arguing about this, goldfish much?

  • To be fair you didn’t say package managers were perfect but you also failed to provide any evidence for your claims that a package manager was more trustworthy than a known software publishers website as a distribution method.

You were given plenty of opportunities to explain yourself and you doubled down with insults and shifting goalposts.

Going by your logic this breach is evidence that package managers should all be avoided.

  • Hunger and widespread discontent are exactly how you get a rebellion but you’d know that if you ever opened a history book.

  • Enjoy your larp but be safe, genuinely don’t want any more of you getting shot by ICE.

  • How dare I not be familiar with every single local acronym you lot have.

Anyway let me know when a soup kitchen or tool library topple anything with your resistance larp

  • Let me know when a soup kitchen topples a government institution. Until then all I see is cringe larping as a resistance movement.

  • Feed people is great, pretending its some kind of 'resistance' is laughable.

  • It’s an action that accomplishes nothing towards the stated goals but makes the person feel good about themselves.

  • My expectation is that Americans will continue getting fucked by their government because the only ones interested in ‘resistance’ will ladle at a soup kitchen about it
