Actually, this town has more than enough room for the two of us

He/him or they/them, doesn't matter too much

Marxist-Leninist ☭

Interested in Marxism-Leninism, but don't know where to start? Check out my Marxist-Leninist study guides, both basic and advanced!

  • "Tankie" is a pejorative used against Marxists, though I've seen it even used against Anarchists these days.

  • Lemmy.ml is the instance admin'd by the developers of Lemmy, who are Marxists. Lemmy.world is admin'd and moderated by liberals who generally are hostile towards Marxism, and have defederated from the 2 largest explicitly Marxist instances as a result.

Users generally prefer Lemmy.ml or Lemmy.world depending on their opinions on Marxism and Communism vs liberalism and Capitalism. We are on Lemmy.world right now, which is going to have far more people agreeing with OP than if this was posted on Lemmy.ml, where users hold the opposite opinion, that Lemmy.world is a problem (generally).

  • Yes, but you don't see new comments, plus this would be for posts and comments. If you just hide a comment, you don't see new replies. Marking as read is useful.

  • Even with a change, the US will continue to rocket rightward until it collapses.

  • I doubt it, the DNC will likely run a faux-progressive campaign next election and perhaps win. However, the answer has always been revolution.

  • Reading has been a massive improvement in my life, buying an eReader helped that along. From fiction to Marxist theory to history books, having an eReader helped me avoid issues with ADHD, I would struggle to open a book and stay focused but being able to pick up and put down an eReader at any time and read for a few minutes without having to carry a full book around was massive.

  • And I am telling you that this is becoming more and more a distant past. No, your average worker isn't going to like the sound of communism, but over time approval for it has shifted dramatically.

  • You envision the average American as an amalgamation of the various strains of thought in America averaged into one, but that's not the case. People vary wildly in reception to Socialism, and being forthright and honest is important. They have been steadily growing, more rapidly than ever.

  • See ya 👋

  • I really don't think you're fine if you're flying off the handle on random internet users accusing them of being paid by the CPC just for being Marxists. I think you should probably take a step back from the keyboard for a while.

It's funny that you preface your civility on me immediately licking your boot before we can discuss anything. Any such conversation would be worthless to begin with if you can't come at it on polite terms from the start.

Furthermore, this conversation was never about China to begin with, the idea that I was going to pivot to exalting China is just conspiracy theory material.

  • I really don't know what's prompting you to go ballistic like this, you might want to log off for a bit.

  • What's wrong with Marxism?

  • It hasn't failed, what on Earth are you talking about? They still organize every day and are gaining many new members after the election results.

  • Not at all. By wiping away the piles of slander and lies proudly, Socialists can better connect with historical socialists and communists.

  • No. MAGA Communism and Patriotic Socialists already exist, and have far more in common with the Nazis due to taking a Nationalist stance in an Imperialist country.

  • I don't think RCV or STAR is either enough to disrupt the status quo with a third party nor feasible enough to get in place.

  • Why?

  • Why rebrand what already exists? What way would be more "efficient?"
