Actually, this town has more than enough room for the two of us

He/him or they/them, doesn't matter too much

Marxist-Leninist ☭

Interested in Marxism-Leninism, but don't know where to start? Check out my Marxist-Leninist study guides, both basic and advanced!

  • Deeply unserious managers of empire continue to self-cannibalize their own productivity in an effort to go even more all-in on financial capital, all while the global south is doing its best to pivot towards more favorable relations with countries like China. When the US Empire runs out of countries to exploit, and financial capital ceases to be profitable, it will have no developed industrial base nor a strong scientifically trained worker base to pull itself back up. The US is cooked, this is just speedrunning the demise of the empire in a faster and harder fashion.

The good news is that the worse this gets, the more favorable the conditions for organizing become, and the more vulnerable to revolution the state becomes. We can legitimately take advantage of this, and gain mastery over capital, rather than the inverse. We can re-industrialize, become socialist, and begin the long and difficult but necessary path towards legitimate progress. It won't be easy, but it will be doable.

  • What's your test to determine between "AI Slop" users and active accounts? Further, I think just releasing a report with voting habits and whatnot for certain accounts without having definitive proof is just witch-hunting. If you suspect accounts, I think it's best to just report them, unless your test to determine "AI Slop" is truly infallible.

  • Hexbear disables downvotes, and some other instances do that too. Check some of them out!

  • I'd rather it be transparent, or non-existent. Hexbear is nice, it has no downvotes, but some users like the ability to downvote for other instances. I think it could be on an instance to decide to implement it, but not for the "flagship" instance. Though, I'd prefer it be put to a vote. I think it has use cases for sure.

  • Yep, the reason China hasn't done it long ago is because it was biding time to build up BRICs and BRI so that it has alternative customers, and thus was more reliant on the US as a consumer. Trump's strategy likely would have worked in the 90s, but we aren't in the 90s anymore. Now that the US is destroying economic ties to the PRC, China can respond by severing the US's ties to Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and SEA. The EU will have to pick either China or the US.

  • The rug has been pulled many times already, eventually the quantitative buildup will leap to a qualitative shift. Whether the EU lasts long enough for that is a separate question though...

  • The EU has neither the industrial capacity of China nor the immense finances of the US, so the EU itself will have to choose who to rely on. If Australia pivots to the EU, they will be pivoting towards whoever the EU pivots towards.

  • The Foreign Minister of China is tweeting Mao speeches regarding Chinese resistance towards the US, so it's safe to say they likely aren't going to capitulate anytime soon.

  • Would certainly be a huge benefit for African countries to free up money for more consumption, but I'll retain cautious optimism.

  • Will probably see further movements from the PRC to sell off US treasury bonds and shifting more away from the dollar in general, along with tighter export restrictions on rare Earth. China already said they won’t keep increasing tariffs, but they seem dedicated to not backing down, and they have the Material means to actually resist US trade aggression.

What would be incredibly based is if the PRC starts paying off loans in Africa with its dollars, decoupling the Global South from the US even further. Gets rid of dollars and debt in the Global South, potentially freeing up new customers for goods produced in China and strengthening ties.

  • They answered the Marxism question here in case you missed it.

  • Thank you for answering! I love kimchi as well, one day I would love to try Pyongyang style Naengmyeun.

Drawing and painting is very cool! I wish I could do that too, but I am very bad at it...

    I see about intranet, understand.

I am a Marxist-Leninist in the West, so it is interesting to hear about it in the DPRK. It is never taught in school and is mostly from small Communist parties.

I hope one day the sanctions on the DPRK will be lifted!

    1. What are the trending foods in the DPRK? As in, are there any new foods that became popular after the division that are unique to Northern Korea?
    2. What do you and others do in your free time? What are some common hobbies?
    3. What are some unique websites on the Intranet that people outside the DPRK may find interesting?
    4. Do the people of the DPRK retain hope that one day Korea will be re-unified?
    5. What is the level of study in Marxism-Leninism and the Juche idea within the school system, before specializing? Example, does everyone study Marxism, or is that more for those who specialize?
  • Yea, you'll have to "find" them, ie pirate (which they seem to have indirectly stated is okay, they are Communists after all), or go through Spotify or other sites. Here's Season 1 on YouTube but make sure you don't miss the bonus episodes! Those are some of the most interesting, usually interviews and other great subjects tangential to the main subject, that playlist doesn't have em.

Edit: oh shit, found em all lol out of order tho

  • I use antennapod, which is on F-Droid. You can also... "find" the mp3s online and listen through any mp3 playing app. First two seasons are on Spotify and other common apps IIRC as well.

  • Speaking past each other is IMO the biggest source of friction and division on the fediverse.

  • Quite supportive! Though it isn't accurate to ever say the Revolution calmed down, IMO, the USSR was under constant siege.

  • No worries!

And as for Blowback, sounds like you'll love it, and probably hate it as well for how fucking sad it can be. It's really painful sometimes, I legitimately tear up at it.

I recommend listening to it in release order, and not skipping any of the bonus episodes, as they often contain interviews with experts and people who actually lived through these events.

  • To be fair, I wasn't expecting you to read either, just to throw them onto your TBR if they sound interesting, as you expressed interest in the general idea. I'm not assigning you homework.

As for putting in the effort to understand Marxism, and Marxism-Leninism, no, I don't expect everyone to put the same amount of effort in. That's one of the benefits of having a Vanguard, or party organization, as long as the people are represented you don't have to expect everyone to be some grandmaster Marxist.

Anyway, it isn't specifically a racial analysis (though it touches on it frequently), I love Blowback. It's about various wars and conquests the US has been involved in throughout the latter 20th and 21st century, understanding the modern US Empire.

And as for Marx, he was a big fan of Lincoln freeing the slaves, and frequently wrote class analysis. His notes are often disorganized and in letter forms, though, so a lot is collected posthumously by Engels or others.

  • He kinda does, he just doesn't make it a focus. If you want a Marxist analysis of the US's racist history that continues to today, you might want to read Settlers, or if Colonialism in general is more your interest, Fanon's The Wretched of the Earth.
