Degen trans millennial

  • Many do but it’s a nightmare for SEO. When people use Substack or Medium it’s because they have built in social network that allows strangers to easily find your blog. Sadly independent blogs don’t really make money unless you are already famous with a network to follow you.

  • Linux as we know it being very customizable and having many choices will never work for mass market. If Linux becomes a truly mass market consumer OS then it will be within walled garden of a large corporation like Google or others.

Everyday people want a computer with a brand name they recognize and for it to just work with all the big name software they know already. They likely won’t even know they are using Linux, it’s something us nerds will know but to them they are just using Google, Microsoft, Meta, or whoever else gets Linux to mass adoption.

  • Kroger also for the time being uses hourly paid workers for their delivery and I hope they stay that way. I really dislike the whole independent contractor crap that most of these delivery apps do and ends up just hurting the workers at the end of the day fighting over what little tips and etc.

  • True, they can be a useful tool. One of the big things that really annoy me is how they are being pushed as a solve everything miracle rather than just a tool that is useful in certain cases.

I guess that isn’t as profitable and they have to push it on everyone for things it does poorly just in the name of forcing widespread adoption.

  • I still really doubt the ability for LLMs to develop new knowledge and experiment to prove its accuracy. They do a below average job at spitting out existing knowledge but creating new information that isn’t already on Wikipedia or elsewhere on the internet is something else beyond their scope.

  • Ya even with our conservative court they even can’t ignore the power states have in enforcing their own laws outside of what the constitution specifically says the federal controls. I guess that assumes if any of them even care about the constitution anymore.

  • Tbh as long as the libreoffice extraction stays free then no problem imo.

  • Is the help me part when you get a postdoc or still phd candidate?

  • They said the same about Bernie too and honestly I think he would have won.

  • I meant to say abandoned, no clue why it autocorrected to that on my phone.

  • LibreOffice is based on OpenOffice but OpenOffice is basically abandoned with every few updates or improvements over a good handful of years now. LibreOffice is generally seen as the successor and I wouldn’t be surprised is OpenOffice just gets archived.

  • 10 out of a 1000 to 30ish out of a 1000 doesn’t even seem like a massive increase, especially if it’s really due to something like a pain medication that is taken by a huge population. Which it’s not as it’s more related to improvements in diagnosing.

I guess they are just hoping people see bar go up and therefore bad.

  • Never understood why jepgXL didn’t win out

  • Was really disappointed when she came out to be transphobic.

  • The sad part is we don’t even know anymore. It’s probably a mix of both

  • It’s really crazy how he is being treated as if he was a high ranking military officer or an elected politician. He was just a hateful guy with a podcast.

  • Pretty sure Spotify approves of it. They don’t care about artists they are there for profit.

  • Lossless music doesn’t matter when it’s all AI generated crap.
