Ferrari is famous for cutting access to critical journalists. Most companies expect a blend of positive and negative reviews and lend cars to any credible outlet. American automotive media has typically been pretty bad about the PR regurgitation, but that’s a choice they’re making - hiring people to read the PR, not to write their own.
Testosterone production drops quite significantly over time. We generally accept hormonal therapy for women often for a majority of their life; it’s not necessarily something to condemn. However, it’s not really well developed (shots every few weeks makes the testosterone level ridiculously high for a while and then drop to pretty low levels as the date for the next dose approaches) and there’s a really good chance they’ll overprescribe on the “manly drugs”. There’s a good number of side effects, including being a dumb-dumb, as Pete demonstrated.
Exogenous testosterone does (often permanently) drop natural production. If they’re signing up for a lifetime of free TRT, it’s probably not really a concern. I somehow doubt that they will, and suspect that the low T is “not service related as there was a demonstrable low T level 10 years ago.”
If you’re referring to the dish purchase, they’re free these days. But even so, when your competitor is $200-500 upfront for a latent multi hop WISP topping out at 30 or 50mbps for $100 per month, a solid 300mbps for $130 and $1000 for a dish is cheap
Starlink is extremely competitive for rural customers, due in no small part to the USA’s extreme reluctance to make telecoms with monopolies actually reach people.
Prior to and including IPO they have been on quite a marketing kick. Referral schemes, equipment rentals, discount plans for low usage etc. Seems like they’re trying hard to make the business make sense. I maintain that LEO (and WISP) ISPs should be limited to more extreme applications yet I see them all over the place in residential areas. Their technical achievements are impressive but if phone systems to remote areas were possible, then so should fibre optics.
Also this should be built by international organisations, not billionaires. A plague on Musk and a plague on Bezos.
So, you mean the marginally profitable bit that supports the pieces that lose billions annually is worth about 6% of the IPO price? Slopware makes up the rest of the value.
Local marketplace had a really nice turntable for an unreasonable price for a bit and I argued with myself for a while about it. (The same person had sold me a nice set of speakers, just upgrades a lot it seems).
Final product, vinyl wears out, the needle wears out, and it’s finicky. It needs to be level and vibration isolated. The voltage produced is so low it’s highly subject to electrical interference. You need a preamp, which vary widely in quality as well as style - it may be high end but is it to your taste? It’s all a rabbit hole I wasn’t willing to go down for what, ultimately, is a lower quality experience than a CD. You have to dust records and have a microgram scale to balance the tonearm. If it’s not an automatic player it’ll wear a groove at the end of playback if you don’t get up to deal with it. If the power supply is slightly off kilter, it plays too fast or slow, or you need to adjust it.
Now, CDs don’t last forever (as audio storage) and have their faults and loudness war outcome, but they do store high fidelity and provide a mindful listening experience in that you need to get up and open a box and place the CD in the player; they have album art; and they have liner notes sometimes.
So I ended up convincing myself to save the money and frustration.
Without googling the specs, are those two on a different channel? ie the chipset has 6 and then another chip handles 2 or vice versa
