  • I haven't installed any drivers on the Proxmox machine. That one has the 2.5Gb NIC built into the motherboard so I probably misspoke when I called it a "card" in the OP if that makes a difference. I'll try this when I get home but I have run 'lspci' and it shows the NIC on both the host and container (Intel Killer 3100 2.5Gb though it's listen as Killer 3000 2.5Gb) plus my iperf3 tests were showing ~2.3Gb speeds between both machines and the container.

As far as the 100GBe switch, I only need to transfer the media off the old machine once so I was just trying to go with something inexpensive since the standard 1Gb ethernet should be fine for most things after this initial transfer.

  • If you're using QBittorrent, you can throttle upload/download speeds in the settings. I believe it wants speeds set in kibibytes (KiB) so you'll need to convert your megabit internet speeds to your desired kibibyte limit (say maybe 50% or less of your available bandwidth).

  • If it affects all ESP32s, the list is infinitely longer

  • I'd also like to hear more. I have at least a dozen of these in my house.

  • It is the fault of the retailers because it's well known that things don't always get handled with care in shipping, especially when you're talking about automated machines and people handling millions of boxes. They're the ones packing these items to ship and damaged items are needless waste. I buy car parts online and they manage to pack these often heavy and awkwardly shaped parts correctly so that they don't sustain damage. Newegg could do the same with some HDDs.

  • I just got 5 drives from them and both orders were packed well.

  • yeah maybe it's because I'm nice to people every day and all I do is get treated like fucking garbage

Almost every single reply of yours in this post is negative and accusatory toward the person you're replying to. Maybe your definition of "nice" doesn't quite jive with many others' definitions.

  • I don't know if this will be of any help, and I dont fully understand the intricacies, but I run into similar issues with my HomeAssistant setup when the certificates expire (every couple of months?). The issue is that HA doesn't pull the new certificate without a reboot, so I typically just restart it every once in a while to ensure that it has the newest certificate.

  • I live in more modern suburban neighborhood where homes are close together and can hear the dude who lives four houses down on the same side of the street as me play his shitty rock music all night. Mainly, it's the bass that carries since it's a long wavelength but occasionally mids and highs as well.

  • Sanrio Town? I bet that gets all the laughs in the edgelord forums.

When was the last time you went outside?

  • We need to bring back the Jeffrey Dahmer era of apartment construction.

  • Lmao where the hell do you live?

  • But not piracy instances. Weird.

  • I googled "conveyancer" as I'm also unfamiliar with the term, and I think the results should answer any questions about it.

  • Yeah we're like a decade into Hulu having an "ad free" plan that includes ads. I lump them in with companies like Verizon offering "unlimited" internet with data caps.

  • I dunno, just more identity politics from the right, apparently.

  • It was fascism either way, so you should be happy since you got what you were (and still are) asking for. You seem to be under the impression that the DNC had to support fascism when that isn't the case and we can all confirm that it wasn't the case now that they've lost yet another election with the exact same garbage strategy.

  • You sound like the type of guy who gets bad review after bad review at their job and when they get passed up for a promotion, blames it on something like DEI.

Absolutely nothing forced the DNC to take such a hard right stance this election after having previously lost using the same terrible strategy. They were more concerned with courting Republican voters and protecting Israel than preserving our democracy and now we're paying the price for it.

It is a weird moment to take a stance against

I've held this stance since 2016, so keep reaching. It's the DNC who's continually pushed away their base election after election to the point that they've handed over control of the entire government to Republicans. If you want to talk about mental gymnastics, maybe you should start there. They're supposed to be the opposition not controlled opposition.

  • How bad at self reflection do you have to be to see yourself cheering on Trump's victory while thinking that you're on the right side of anything.
