The strength of life to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

  • I mean, I feel it's a misunderstanding of what users actually use social media for.

Just of top of your head, can you list three reasons they want to join the Fediverse for a "normal" Reddit user? Because I struggle to name one, nevermind three. There's all the technical reasons, ethical stuff, etc. But that's all something that enthusiasts would consider, and it goes against how the vast vast majority of users use social media where the more centralized the better as it multiplicatively expands the pool of content and interactions to have everyone centralized.

The Fediverse shows this, in fact! Note how resistant users are to spread over instances, in fact being always after centralizing on the bigger ones. But this isn't a bad thing really, as it's simply the nature of social media. Of course far less necessary on federated stuff, but there's also no reason not to (again, from the perspective of someone wanting to use social media, not advocate).

It's not an easy thing to do to get users here. The place inherently doesn't appeal to those it would need to appeal to.

  • It's relatively easy to envision.

Assume each agency (not just the 3-letter ones, any) had X% of fascists and fascist-friendly people. The other 100%-X% will be fired. So just the X% remain.

On the one hand, the agency is now severly crippled as it lacks key personell, and probably the firings aren't evenly spread through departments and key positions, meaning some aspects don't work at all any more (separating air traffic is one, for a simple example), while others still mostly work. On the other hand, all remaining aspects are now 100% fascist in their nature, and will always take the fascist option if one presents itself as anyone who would not do so has been removed.

  • Not too be confused with the Masturbatron.

  • Not a Nazi salute

    Oh fuck OFF!

  • I mean I can't tell you the precise line but when your bought slaptoy called Trump can just pardon everyone as he wishes, you really couldn't give a rat's ass any more.

  • Evidently not.

  • What's worse, this happens at a time when there are already certain issues genuinely bigger than humans as a species (in some regards), like climate change, that ought to supercede all other issues and really need everyone to pool all of their resources and be smart about it.

Instead we get Chucklefuck McDoofusface doing a Sieg Heil as he accepts his de-factor presidency of the Unites States of Assholery.

  • Nice to see people use loops to post desktop video with black bars as portrait, top. 🤮

Actual print looks awesome though! Nice stuff!

  • I was looking forward to buying a Bambu printer but now it is off the table for me.

I mean for me they were already off the table with their proprietary bullshit overpriced replacement parts. Yeah sure, it prints more out-of-the-box but once you're used to a little maintenance other printers even cheap ones just are easier. Trivial maintenance and you can get 3-4 for the price of one Bambu usually, which more than offsets the speed.

  • Damn, is there a digitalization of it around somewhere? 😅

  • And the fediverse will be there to catch them.

Ah yes, just like it happened with Twitter! (or you're not talking about average person but techies)

  • Only relevant stuff is mentioned. 😛

  • Hold on, are you confusing something being hurting (as in, causing pain and/or pathological damage) with something being exhausting (as in, strains your eyes) with something being annoying?

Because if the three words are used interchangeably in your vocabulary that'd explain a lot of your seemingly random posts in the comments here. They're not the same (at all) to most people and especially not on a medical level (like that article you yourself provided, there is no medical evidence for non-extreme light sources making a difference in eye health).

  • You really should read pages you want to link. And I say this as a die-hard dark mode user. It's worrying that you so aggressively attack people get cannot even read the page you link far enough to notice that what you are saying about it is nonsense (like how it has "the same reason", which of course it doesn't, as made clear in the article).

Or you know, at least don't be such a dick. That's also help a lot!

  • [citation needed]

  • I think some allow Mastodon login!

  • Yeah context and intend make all the difference. Cultural appropriation is when you try to clad yourself in something that is a facsimile of another culture, usually for marketing or influence purposes, but you neither understand nor have any intend to understand the culture itself or the meaning behind the parts you use for your (usually financial) gain.
