At this point the only way America can lose more respect than they already have globally is if they don't do the one thing they never shut the fuck up about saying they'll do if this ever happens.
IMO this is because of peripheral vision you lose most of the colour cuz of the angle the light is hitting your eye. Making dark vehicles really hard to see.
I've seen one accident and experienced one near miss caused by a fast moving black vehicle not being visible to a shoulder check. In my case they flew past me right when I had committed to a U-turn. I did shoulder check, but it was confirmed by a pedestrian that they SUV sped around the blind corner with less than a 2 second window to have seen them.
It's not really a thing outside the USA? At least not in Canada anymore. I'm one of a bunch of kids and about halfway through my siblings they stopped recommending it.
Confused the hell out of 8 year old me tasked with giving my 3 year old brother a shower.
One of the ones that stand out to me was floating security in a music venue I spotted a patron alone about to have a seizure and was able to intervene before they fell over and got injured.
