sorry i yelled at you. unless you deserved it.

  • "Collaborative" is the watchword here.

Why would this authoritarian agree to this when they could clearly just force it through? Because they want the locals to collaborate with them willingly. If you get the locals to feel like it's a good thing, or at least better than the alternative, that they're doing the illegal homeless crackdown, then suddenly it's not as morally bad. "at least we're preventing trump's goons from cracking down. we can be terrorists more gently than they can."

  • seek help

  • There's nothing about the interstate compact that is ineffective, the legislation has been passed in many places, rather the triggers are famously not met and the conservative party is famously opposed.

  • This is evidence that resistance is possible, if that were wanting, but it's not a win. So far this is merely temporarily staved off defeat. This particular crisis is far from over, and self-congratulation is premature.

  • That's cool and everything, but what's stopping them from calling another-

Governor Greg Abbott calls new special session directly after legislature adjourned its last one on Friday

    ah, right. Nothing.

  • more like it attaches the quiver to the side of the longbow as a magazine to make the bow repeating. he did make one for the crossbow that is a lot more weildy though

edit: inventor and review/historical analysis. decide for urself what the wacky thing is

  • is there a way to block all posts with links to a specific site?

  • they cant just cheat in minority districts; not as easily anyway, not without a lot more risk

  • For my part the only nuance I was provided by my education was "i cannot tell a lie all men are created equal" so I'd like to see what were the like specific topics that switched. Like, it's not unreasonable to to be suspicious of the idea that the democrats just stopped being racist after having a whole civil war about slavery, if I even have my timeline right off the top of my head. And frankly, I doubt it was as simple as "they just switched sides," like, why? How? How tf does that even happen? I've heard it said before like a lot actually but- Genuine curiosity, if you have a non-american-imperialist source explaining this party switch i'd actually like to read it.

  • Both of yall stop slapfighting. You're both arguing specific points that don't necessarily contradict and there's room for nuance on either side. Provide a source and remember the human.

  • Opening move? The coup has already happened. The fix is in. This is an occupation. Opening move? We're at the fucking starting line still they mean.

  • "You saw her! She was coming right for us with that briefcase!"

  • If you're playing chess with a guy who changes the board when they think you're not looking and keep playing chess like nothing is happening, your feckless naivity is going to keep being taken advantage of. In this context you can't not play the game, and playing fair is catastrophically suicidally stupid, so you have to get dirty too. If you dont you fucking lose and you deserve it too.

also, your high road strategy seems to be relying on these guys to like, stop cheating? "don’t let the Texas state house get a quorum again," buddy wake up: they sicced the fbi on them. wtf are you gonna do even as a state representative when 20 fbi agents knock on your door and say you're coming with me. "throw these fascist dipshits from Texas and Florida and Ohio and wherever else out on the steps" be fucking serious.

in my opinion, it's pretty obvious you came to the conclusion first and are reasoning backwards to justify the conclusion you already reached. you think we wanna use the obvious cheating method? we don't, but it's war. we ought to do whatever it takes to survive and worry about cleaning up the mess we know we're about to make later.

edit: and if you want to retain a moral superiority over your enemy, and I see no reason why you shouldn't, then include a clause in your gerrymandering legislation to the effect that it will automatically become null and revert to a fair redistricting committee when federal law is established to prevent gerrymandering at all.

  • aw thats kinda mean

  • still, kind of funny wondering what an ultrasonic catastrophe might have been

  • there's reason to think that epstein and israel are actually separate heads of the same hydra. anyway it's possible to pay attention to more than one thing at once.
