  • For a car supposedly made of steel, that's an awful lot of plastic.

  • OK, maybe that would be possible to prevent, but I doubt it.

  • Exactly

  • Sigh....

    Now read a little further:

The bill must still pass through the California State Senate, and will pass through California governor Gavin Newsom's desk if it clears the Senate. Newsom can then either sign it into law, or veto it.

But I can see the people upvoting you didn't do that either. Sigh....It's not my fault the headline is stupid and misleading. It has only passed 1 step out of 3.

  • mandating that computers have to have technology that prevents hate speech.

What a brilliant idea, let's get on it immediately. 🤣

Joking aside, you are 100% right.Except I think the idea of printing a gun is to avoid detection in metal detectors.

  • That law is impossible to follow and moronic. You can't prevent a new unknown designs to be printed, and my guess is those are pretty trivial to make. And there is guaranteed to be workarounds too. This is just enshittification by law.My guess is that this law will not pass.

  • very favorable” view of democratic socialism.

Maybe there is hope for USA at some point in the future.

  • IDK maybe because half of them voted for a sociopathic government with the specific goal of hurting large groups of Americans, and giving further tax breaks to the 1%?

Seems to me there are many many good reasons to decidedly hate Republicans. Their policies are decidedly evil, and they are extremely corrupt, and are covering for pedophiles.

  • Sadly yes.

  • I could imagine they increasingly don't trust politicians either. It's almost as if there is a pattern there isn't it?Maybe we are being filled with more bullshit all around than we have ever been!

  • You have convinced me. 👍

  • True, but as I understand it, the sales of physical media is dwindling fast.Maybe Sony shouldn't kill it, but let it die out by itself, but maybe that's what they consider this is?Unfortunately dropping physical media has many advantages for Sony, but probably not for the customer. We will see if customers can create a shitstorm big enough to make them change their mind as Microsoft did pretty quickly back when they announced it, because the shitstorm was enormous, and Sony scored huge points on announcing continued support back then.Kind of Ironic that Sony is the one to end it now. Ah well, maybe this will help Xbox become more competitive again. But remember a big reason Sony did it back then was to keep Blu-Ray alive. And I don't think that is commercially relevant for them either anymore.

  • Sony is very well aware of the popularity of physical media for games. 80% of their sales are digital, and cost are higher for physical media, and the share is declining.

Don't ever think there is a gotcha moment on this issue that Sony wasn't aware of. They've been in this business for 30+ years.

They support physical media until 2028, after which new games will not come out on physical media anymore. It's not like Microsoft that tried to launch a new console, that out of the blue abandoned support for physical media.

  • Yes Weird Al Yankovic is now commenting on AI in computer games? 🤣I hate stupid fonts where different letters look identical, but I can't seem to get rid of them!? 😡

That CEO seems very shady IMO, I read his response previously, and it was just so obviously off. I think he is genuinely a sociopath with an inability to interact with people in a normal way, because he simply can't tell the difference.I also notice you call him "very mature", so I think you may have had a similar vibe.

  • It reeks of dishonesty. Very clearly they used AI, just not VERY SPECIFICALLY for the thing they were accused of firing a person over?

  • vomit, and then keep eating.

Maybe we've been lucky, but we've never had that problem.

Definitely not networked though. That just seems like bad design

Indeed, automatic feeders have existed long before we even had Internet.

  • Yes I get it for vacations, although even then we don't use it, but just put extra food out so there is enough for the duration. If a cat has learned from it was little that food is not a shortage item my experience is that they rarely overeat. Giving them a little too little every day however, and you will get a cat that can never have enough.

  • Yes, that must be it.
